Speakeasy Moderne: a Modern Twist on the Illicit Speakeasy

On Saturday, April 12 at The Cutting Room, get swept up in the world of Speakeasy Moderne, where singers enchant, flappers flirt and dancers dazzle. Hosted by "Official Hank" Stampfl, it's an unforgettable evening featuring an intoxicating blend of pop hits
set in the style of jazz age Manhattan and vaudeville. A unique cabaret with a touch of burlesque.

The evening will feature Broadway favorite Jennifer Sanchez seen in Spiderman, Ghost the musical, and West Side Story. Singer and songwriter Dina Fanai who has performed throughout the world with the platinum selling arena rock band Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Also taking the stage will be stunning Burlesque Star Puss N Boots.

With songs ranging from the Tin Pan Alley era to the Golden Age of Broadway to today's pop charts, the show puts a modern twist on the old school, illicit speakeasy.

Choreography by Kimberly Schafer. Cocktail wear is encouraged and audience members are asked to come dressed in their best 1920's attire. Musical numbers include "Steppin Out (With My Baby)" by Irving Berlin; "Respect" (Aretha Franklin); "Young and Beautiful" (Lana De Rey); "Proud Mary" (Tina Turner)

Master of Ceremonies -- "Official Hank" Stampfl is a veteran of the North American Broadway tour of Evita, Kander and Ebb's Cabaret, as well as Hello, Dolly starring Sally Struthers. His latest release, a pop/dance CD produced by Heather Holley (Christina Aguilera), features such songs as "Life On Stage," "Know Me" featuring Richie Rich, and "Feel Good."
