Ricardo Scales Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber
Ricardo Scales Tribute to:
Andrew Lloyd Webber is arguably the most successful composer of our time. He is best known for stage and film adaptations of his musicals Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), Cats (1994), Evita (1996), and The Phantom of the Opera (2004).
Ricardo has performed for five United States presidents and countless diplomats, heads of state, and foreign dignitaries. He has shared concert billing with such notables as Debbie Reynolds, the Commodores, Nancy Wilson, Jerry Vale, Nelson Rangell, Jeff Linsky, SpyroGyra, the Temptations, and Kenny Lattimore. He is the preferred pianist of former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, who raves that Ricardo's dynamic performance will surely "cement him and his orchestra into classical/smooth jazz history."
Byrne and Harriet Newhart
For nearly two decades, violinists Byrne and Harriet Newhart have been delighting national and international audiences with their thirteen piece strolling orchestra, the San Francisco Starlite Strings, featuring the musical treasures of the American Song Book, Viennese Waltzes and Continental favorites. In the tradition of violin orchestras of the early 20th Century, popular in hotels and grand ballrooms, the Starlite Strings have performed for official functions, opening galas, corporate receptions, and non-profit events throughout the Greater Bay Area. Byrne and Harriet’s past career highlights including performing in concerts with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Barry White, Natalie Cole, Temptations, Smokey Robinson, among others. They also performed for the video production of Tony Bennett’s Wonderful World, Live From San Francisco, which was aired nationally on PBS and released on DVD. Currently, the Newharts are collaborating with Ricardo Scales, and the end result is an exciting, elegant new romantic sound that will captivate the listener’s imagination while touching the heart: Think violins with Ricardo’s smooth jazz and sizzling improvisations of American Song Book
