Heavy Heavy Hearts
The Heavy Heavy Hearts began as the brainchild of founding member Beau James Wigington as he embarked on the writing and recording of his first solo EP “Whiskey is my Warm-up.” After a long recording process involving multiple session musicians, Beau found undeniable chemistry with session players Ralph Alexander, Clark Singleton, and Anthony Mancini and soon decided that a band was the necessary next step.
In October of 2012, The Heavy Heavy Hearts held their debut performance at Molly Malone’s in Hollywood CA and released their first EP entitled “Dirty Lies” to great adulation. This up and coming band is quickly developing a buzz in Los Angeles as a heavy, soulful, highly-talented band, hell bent on fusing Blues/Rock with Country Soul, creating a unique yet worn in sound that calls back to Robert Johnson and Howlin’ Wolf while maintaining the modern blues feel of bands like The Black Keys and Old Crow Medicine Show.
John Flanagan is an artist impervious to the confines of conventionally defined genera. Instead he writes in the bold new frontier of Dance Rock. Some might call it glam. Others might call it pop. With a twist of The Killers drive, Mika’s devil-may-care falsetto-pop, and Brandi Carlile’s broken vocal styling, Flanagan would rather let his listeners define it for themselves. After all, audiences are what make an artist. With performance credits stretching across the country from Nashville to New York, Texas to Indiana, and Georgia to Oregon, Flanagan has entertained thousands of people across America.
Bryce Soderberg & the 2ndWheel
Bryce &the 2ndwheel are an alternative indie-pop band based out of Los Angeles California. Formed in the spring of 2012, the project was birthed as a result of songs written by Bryce Soderberg during his still current days as long time bassist of the Multi-Platinum rock group Lifehouse. "Initially this was just a passion project, a side-band for me." laughs Soderberg. "But after a few shows and getting such a positive feedback, I don't want to stop!" Having worked on the upcoming self titled EP with NIN keyboardist Allesandro Cortini and Abandoned Pools frontman Tommy Walter, you can expect songs of heartache, happiness, in an LA lived adolecence, with sounds from the past and alternative present.
The Vim Dicta
The Vim Dicta is Cori Elliot (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitars), Matt Tunney (Lead Guitar) and drummer Chris "Fuse" Infusino. This electric L.A.-based threesome of twenty somethings channel the feel, the musicianship and accessibility of alternative rock and blend it with a healthy dose of modern progressive rockers like Dead Weather and The Mars Volta. Blend in descriptive lyrical imagery vis a vis Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan; and top it off with deep and soulful female vocals conjuring such powerful singers as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Janis Joplin to get a whiff of The Vim Dicta's psycho brew.
The Vim Dicta will soon premiere their new single, "Point Blank," a groove- heavy, fuzzed out masterpiece that they recorded live in-studio at the famous Sunset Sound in Hollywood. With absolutely no overdubs allowed, the result is authentic rock and roll. Like Life itself, there are no second takes. "Point Blank" features the B-side "The Name of the Game," another truly inspired blast of virtuosic noise rock. Both are available for download on June 25 on iTunes and Amazon and will release to a limited edition vinyl later this year.
