Justin Taylor

Justin Taylor

Justin Taylor was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He picked up his dad's acoustic guitar when he was 14 and taught himself to play. By the time Justin graduated from college he was playing professionally for a number of artists and touring as a session musician. On these tours, he opened for bands such as Fall Out Boy, Hoobastank, Stain'd, Evanescence, and 3 Doors Down, just to name a few. Playing for others awakened a love for songwriting and taking the lead microphone. Justin decided to go solo with just his songs, his voice, and his guitar and won the Andy McGibbon's Acoustic Arts competition in 2005. He released his first album, "From Tienie Street" at the end of 2007 and signed with Candyrat Records in the States. He earned a number of songwriting awards including a first place in the West Coast Songwriters International Song Contest in 2008 for his song, "Not the Way" and runner up to Songwars Competition in 2009 for his song, "I Will Not Be Fine". His second album, "Farther" (released 2009) was a beautiful tribute to his wife, whom he crossed the ocean to be with. They now have a little boy, who Justin says has greatly inspired his songwriting for album number 3, which will be coming out this summer. If you see Justin Taylor live in concert you can expect to be invited into his story and moved by his sincerity. His songs are honest and his guitar playing is compelling. Be on the lookout for Justin’s 3rd album “Almost Home” scheduled to be released this summer.
