Badfish: A Tribute To Sublime

Badfish: A Tribute To Sublime

The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have,
or did, but as Badfish does.

Universal Funk Order

Universal Funk Order is 100%, straight no chaser, hot, groovy, in your face, this-is-what-I'm-talking-about, all original, FUNK. The 7 piece band, hailing from Newark, Delaware, takes the perfect mix of sounds from all sides of the spectrum, twists it with originality and spunk, and personally delivers the product to you, the people. This is the fresh, revived sound of 21st century funk, folks.

The Snails

The Snails are an eclectic act specializing in various forms of Jamaican music, blended with ragged 50's rock 'n' roll and the sweet sounds of American soul. The band is fronted by Todd Fausnacht on lead guitar, complemented by Tim Hildebrand on rhythm guitar. The driving beats spring from the rhythm section comprised of Josh Parry on drums, Ben Parry on bass, and Kyle Williams on organ. Though Fausnacht's vocals lead the group, it is not uncommon for the voices of all five members to come together in cascading harmony.

The Snails are no strangers to providing the musical backdrop for other acts. In early 2012 they toured the northeast U.S. with King Django as his backing band, as well as playing their own set each night. They performed with Stubborn Records artist Rocker T at the Stubborn Records 20th Anniversary Party, traveled the Midwest with Sammy K (formerly of the Brooklyn rocksteady band the Forthrights) in the summers of 2012 and 2013, and joined Vic Ruggiero of the Slackers on stage in Philadelphia last spring.

Last winter The Snails released their 4-song EP "The River," recorded at Version City Studios, on Stubborn Records. The release was commemorated by the Winter 2012-2013 Version City Tour. The Snails are releasing a brand new double EP, "Songs from the Hydrogen Jukebox Volumes 1 and 2," in May 2014 on Asbestos Records.
