The Turncoats

The Turncoats

The Turncoats are an alternative blues/rock group out of central Illinois. The idea of a band was brought up for a talent show in high school. They formed for the event and covered "Wind Cries Mary" and "Moby Dick" to win the show. Right from the beginning there was a spark and feeling of familiarity.

They began to develop their sound by covering classic rock legends. This put their musicianship to the test and helped them evolve on a professional level. Eventually they grew into writing their own material with songwriting influences ranging from The Beatles to The White Stripes.

Their live shows contain the electricity of The Who and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The Turncoat's raw 60s british sound reminds you of early kinks, but with the instrumental prowess of Led Zeppelin.

The Turncoats, with their genre spanning influences, as well as their blues barreling live show, are sure to grab the crowd's attention.

Alex and the XO's

Alex and the XO's are a ukulele fun-pop band that incorporates folk and indie-alternative vibes. The combination of quirky lyrics and building instrumentals leave you feeling warm and fuzzy like a grandmother's hug on a motorcycle ride.

In 2011, Alex Fisher slept through her music business class. In order to make up credits that were missed, she was given a choice: grade improvement via grueling hours of extra credit or create a YouTube video that goes viral. She rose to the latter challenge, picking up a Ukulele and planting the seed of a rose that grew from concrete, Alex and the XO's.

Filling out the lineup 2011-2013 was drummer/alienbeatmachine Dan Bretz (ex Sweater Weather, Geriatrics)and musical tours de force tandem guitarist Joe Holland and bassist Luke Hess (both ex Fembots, Tunnel Snakes).

In May of 2013, Alex and the XO's transformed to a 6-piece, adding re-occurring performances from: Trenton Perry (Franky and The Plexicats) on Mandolin and Clarence Moorer on Saxophone. Guitarist Christopher Whitacre (Altar Goliath), Troy Sennett (Modus Aurora), and drummer Adam Meyers (Altar Goliath) joined forces with Alex and the XO's, as well.
