David Baker’s work has been heard on television, in films, and around the country in concert halls and coffee shops. David keeps alive the simplicity and elegance of the singer-songwriter tradition of the 60’s and 70’s while reinventing new sounds, images, and words for a new generation of music lovers. His style and range have enchanted audiences ever since his first album "Awakenings," which featured the kinds of folk, Celtic and acoustic influences that define David’s work. A fan once noted that when David “plays the song, he is the song!” He is also known as a beloved singer of the work of John Denver, whose songs he both faithfully honors and reinterprets.
His career as a composer for both film and television has allowed him to arrange his work for a variety of ensemble concerts featuring other voices, bands, and orchestras. Offering fresh originals and new arrangements of David’s most loved tunes, “Angels Dance in the Afternoon” is an album that invites you in close: for a blessing, for a reverie and – above all – for a joyful afternoon dance with some pretty down-home angels. Please join us for a special release concert! All proceeds will go to the Texas A&M University-Commerce Music Department.
