On the Grind Management presents...
Mr. F, Fersher, DROPPED ONCE
2109 South State St
Chicago, IL, 60616
This event is 17 and over
The magnetic reggae hero returns to StageOne to celebrate the birthday of reggae's most transcendent and iconic figure, Bob Marley . Sure, for Mystic, home could mean Jamaica, the islands or any number of other places he's lived. But if you ask him, he'll make it clear that Fairfield is home. Expect top-notch roots reggae from the man that has delighted audiences around the world as the lead vocalist for the Tom Tom Club, a musical collaboration featuring Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz of Talking Heads.
Coming out of Chicago with their own special blend of reggae, ska, bluegrass, punk and psychedelic dub, Fersher offers a little flavor for everyone. Formed in December 2011, the band's members have played together in various bands and projects throughout the years and found a common sound in the heady jams that make Fersher. With an ever expanding library of originals and a deep catalog of classic cover songs that fit right at home on any stage, Fersher makes people dance...period.
Chicago's own Dropped Once sets the bar with their trademark blend of reggae and rock. Their deep reaching bass lines, robust horns, and tasteful keys are topped with razor-sharp leads and unmistakable vocals that sell thousands of songs worldwide. Showcasing a lineup of 8 standout musicians, Dropped Once has built a sound that seamlessly fuses old world beats of the Caribbean with raw grooves of modern rock. Their innovative, original songs will drive crowds to dance, and a diverse selection of covers will hit home with fans of everyone from Bob Marley and Sublime to Radiohead and Pink Floyd.
