Bias Tape members include Amal Bisharat (lead singer/guitarist/keyboardist), Blaise Smith (guitarist), Robert Wong (bass), and Michael Russell (drums). Of the musical comparisons made about Bias Tape, those most helpful with classification are: Blondie, U2, Cat Power, Billie Holiday, Coco Rosie, and Feist. Collectively, the band has worked with a wide variety of producer/musicians including Steve Albini (Pixies, PJ Harvey, Nirvana, Will Oldham), Kramer (Luna, Galaxy, 500, Low), Scott Solter, and Desmond Shea. Bias Tape's first full-length CD, "A Part", was recorded at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco with sound engineer Chris von Sneidern. It was released October 23, 2008. The music is moody and sad at times, but it is also upbeat, complex and fun.
