Hailing from Colorado Springs, CO Adam Gardino has been dazzling audiences across Colorado and Kansas since 2005. Sharing the stage with such acts as Grammy winners Doug Smith, Pat Donohue and Al Petteway, he blends a wide mix of music from acoustic blues, to jazz, classical, country and rock. In 2010 he took 3rd Place at the International Fingerstyle Competition at the Walnut Valley Festival , where players from all over the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan come and compete every year for a chance to be named among the best in the world. His sound has been likened to that of Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins and James Taylor.
From farmer’s markets and festivals, to restaurants, banquets and concert halls, he’s played them all. Performing since the age of 15, his stage craft has been constantly shaped and reshaped for every show and concert. Appearances have included the annual EMS Gala, Black Rose Acoustic Society, Aberdeen Steak House, and the infamous Swallow Hill Music Association. Stories and jokes riddle the spaces between tunes and provide a thrilling background for his excellent musicianship.
Adam is also a phenomenal composer and songwriter. His solo acoustic compositions and arrangements show intense musical insight and depth. Henry Mancini’s “Peter Gunn Theme”, Bill Haley and His Comets’ “Rock Around the Clock”, and Steely Dan’s “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” have been put onto six strings in an elegant fashion, with the latter being featured as the opening track to his debut album “Thumbin’ for a Ride”. His original songs contain in them the entire emotional rainbow, and include some witty and humorous twists. Sheer terror and hilarity have never been more closely related than in his “Dentist Chair Blues”. This broad range of music helps to add to his stage presence for entertaining and spontaneous performances.
