Hibou + DTCV + Dream Boys

Part Time Punks

Peter Michel is a 22 year old Seattleite who creates music under the alias Hibou. Michel toured North America and Europe as the drummer of Captured Tracks’ band Craft Spells. After a year of non-stop touring, he felt his life with the band had run its course, and that it was time to begin creating his own music. In January of 2013, he released 2 songs, and soon after received positive press recognition. In June of 2013, Dunes EP was released, which was featured by NME, Pitchfork, Line of Best Fit, Noisey, and more. Hibou released his debut self titled LP on Barsuk Records in September of 2015, and is currently on tour.

Named after the Jean-Luc Godard film, Los-Angeles based garage pop outfit Détective was initially conceived as a studio project by James Greer, former member of Guided By Voices, and Guylaine Vivarat, a long-time member of the LA music scene (Useless Keys, Tennis System). Since forming in March 2012, Détective has released two EPs, Very Fallen World and Basket of Masks, and a full length album, However Strange, which was released in late August on cassette by Burger Records to coincide with a national tour opening for Guided By Voices in September.

Dream Boys

Independent music from the west coast of Scotland has always had a kinship with psychedelic pop music from the west coast of America. Orange Juice loved The Byrds, Teenage Fanclub wanted to be in Buffalo Springfield, the Pastels adored the Electric Prunes. Dream Boys are a modern day trans atlantic love affair realized. Consisting of 3 americans and 1 scotsman, their songs have the spirit of postcard records filtered through the rural haze of the paisley underground. Pure pop with nods to New Zealand’s Flying Nun records and an aura of psychedelia akin to the Church. Their songs float around the notion of time and space, love and heartbreak, the highs and lows with a range of emotion and introspection. One can’t imagine these songs coming from any other band or from any other time other than now. These songs are psychedelic in the truest sense, a californian sun rises on a Glasgow street, rain fall during an indian summer, Dream Boys’ music lies somewhere in between this musical dream, in love with pop music with a sincerity unmatched. For fans of The Church, R.E.M., Rain Parade, The Chills, The Clean, The Byrds, Belle and Sebastian, The La’s, Teenage Fanclub, Big Star, etc
