Watch & Listen
"That was so sweet. I want to listen to him again." -- Madonna
San Francisco singer/songwriter and 2-time Grammy® Award-winning recording artist, Matt Alber returns to Austin for an intimate acoustic concert at ND Studio. Fans of Eva Cassidy, Rufus Wainwright (and Whitney Houston) feel right at home at Alber's shows which feature guitar and piano arrangements of his original songs and unlikely covers of female pop hits.
Alber first became known in 2009 for his song "End Of The World" and it's accompanying music video set in a 1960's barbershop. Alber gets swept off his feet by a Don Draper-type in the video, and MTv's Logo Channel introduced him to gay America. He embarked on a solo career after touring the globe with a classical acapella group called Chanticleer, with whom Alber won two Grammy Awards.
His latest album, Constant Crows, debuted at #2 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart. Alber recorded the album last Fall on Vashon Island-- a wooded, fog-bound rock in Puget Sound inhabited by more deer than humans.
The setlist includes Matt's original songs as well as his cover of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," Madonna's "Take A Bow" and a hauntingly delicate rendition of Imogen Heap's "Hide & Seek."

Austin-based, Alabama-raised singer/songwriter Nakia has a heart that beats to the rhythms of Muscle Shoals soul, pumping blood infused with Stax funk to cells lined with Chicago blues grooves. His vocal talent is the kind that instantly turns listeners into fans — among them CeeLo Green, who invited Nakia to sing on his Muppets Christmas special.
On his new EP, Drown in the Crimson Tide, releasing March 5 on Something-Music, Nakia unleashes that voice on six songs he wrote in collaboration with top-tier artists including Barry Goldberg, Bleu, Chris Seefried, Aris Archontis and Brian West.
Jeb Havens has been singing, playing the piano, and writing songs since the age of 10. His music is a blend of catchy pop songwriting and raw emotional therapy. Since moving to San Francisco in 2007, he has performed at numerous Bay Area venues and events, including Cafe Du Nord, Red Devil Lounge, Hotel Utah, Kimo's, SF Pride, and Martuni's Piano Bar, where he co-hosts a monthly showcase of queer songwriters called Homophonic. He also performs with the electro-pop duo Rowsy Bosch and the band The Hangover Brigade.
