Writer's Guild Backpack Drive

Writer's Guild

The Writers Guild is an organization created to protect the rights, privileges and integrity of writers.

In the late 1960s, the term "supergroup" was coined to describe a rock music group whose performers are already famous from having performed individually or in other groups." Don't call The Writer's Guild a "supergroup." Call it a collective..a movement... or the new standard.

Formed in Phoenix, Arizona, the Guild is collection of emcees and one poet, all with the same goal-- raising the bar and quality level in hip-hop music.

The Writers Guild is:

Mr. Miranda -
Born and raised in Arizona, Mr. Miranda has been rapping for over 10 years and is a true student in the art of music. He has conquered the originality aspect, with a smooth, timeless style that instantly embraces the soul.

Pennywise -
Born in the birthplace of hip-hop, The Bronx, New York, Penny has lived all around the country from New York, Texas and now in Phoenix. Hip-Hop became an outlet and escape from all the negativity and violence on the streets and became a way of life and a way to take his creativity to the next level.

Random (aka Mega Ran) -
Whether spitting fantastic fantasy raps based on video games or heart-wrenching tales of inner city pain and progress, Random's prolific catalog and energetic stage show have earned respect from critics and fans worldwide.

RoQ'y TyRaiD -
"The New Millennium Man" redefines the term "lyricist" with his amazing mixture of rapid-fire wordplay, wittiness, originality, brazen yet smooth delivery, controversial subject matter, and charisma.

One part Wu-Tang Clan, one part Jurassic 5, another part Slaughterhouse, yet The Writer's Guild is an aural experience unlike any other.

Brad B and Foundation grew up in Indianapolis Indiana. Being from the Midwest they were in a unique position to be influenced by east coast hip hop such as A Tribe Called Quest, KRS One, and the Beastie Boys, to name a few. At the same time being Hit from the left coast with N.W.A., the Hieroglyphics, and Ice T, also just to name a few. Meanwhile, classic rock and the blues of Chicago, being so close is very apparent in the Midwest and in their sound.
Their live show is an audio/visual extravaganza that has captivated even the most jaded show patron. With big beat banging production from Foundation, the furious flows of one of the illest emcees of the last ten years Brad B, and Dumperfoo, one of the pioneers of the live art movement. They have toured extensively for the last eight years in the United States and Europe and have gathered a legion of die-hard fans from all walks of life and musical backgrounds. For the last twelve years the Insects have always stayed relevant and perhaps ahead of there time.
