Eureka The Butcher & Sadah Luna
Eureka The Butcher is Marcel Rodriguez Lopez a multi-Instrumentalist who is the keyboardist and percussionist of the Grammy Award winning group The Mars Volta alongside his sibling Omar Rodriguez Lopez. He is also the drummer and producer of the band Zechs Marquise with his other two brothers Marfred & Riko Rodriguez Lopez.
Eureka The Butcher is El Paso’s take on the Los Angeles beat scene nurtured amongst world renowned Low End Theory producers. Influenced by J Dilla, Flying Lotus, Mr. Dibiase, Samiyam, DJ Nobody, Nosaj Thing, Madlib, and Monopoly, Eureka The Butcher manipulates analog synths with real instruments and percussion. Eureka The Butcher often performs live with Sadah Luna adding a striking visual component to his set.
Lo Phi is an amalgamation of '94 Hakeem and '84 War. '92 Pharcyde and '89 Tecmo Bowl. 18th century enlightenment and 2020 endgame. That rare mix of Lopan and Burton. Cassette and Laser Disc. Sriracha and Earl. Splinter and Shredder. Rufus and Chuck De Nomolos. Lo Phi punctuates performances with a plethora of perspiration, a tangible stream of soul there for all to gaze upon. The harbinger of thick low ends with sultry soundscapes to both soothe and stimulate; He is no charlatan. Amisdt a world of appearances and fronts Lo Phi's genuine clamor resonates in ones soul as it rushes your neurotransmitters. From the Info-grooves pressed into cylinders to noises unknown; Anything is sampled and shamelessly double dipped into the soul batter. Raised to Hate, Learned to Love; Dawned with a fresh perspective of reality, it's cliche to say his pupils are as big as silver dollars, but anyone can see the change in his eyes.
Eversive, otherwise known as Chris Medders, is a producer/MC/singer hailing from Austin, Texas. His style is expansive and diverse, in the spirit of the new melting pot age of music where genres and comparisons fail to properly convey the beauty of the innovation. The general feel good vibes of funk and soul are infused into many styles and tempos across the sonic spectrum
Andrew Brown is a collector and arranger of interesting, well textured sounds. He is the co-founder of the monthly electronic music event called Exploded Drawing and plays in a band called Focus Group. He wants to create an audio environment for us to live in.
Eureka the Butcher is a solo project by Marcel Lopez-Rodriguez, a Grammy Award winning multi-instrumentalist who plays drums for El Paso's Zechs Marquise, and percussion for The Mars Volta.
