SUPERMULE is a strange breed. As a collective of players culled from a wide range of musical scenes, this San Francisco-based band uses the forms and melodies of American roots music to explore common ground and celebrate diverse musical backgrounds. Strings+Keys+Brass+Beats. The result is a refreshing bluegrass ruckus- ancient tones merging with the moxy of jazz and bravado of rock 'n roll. Formed in 2011, SUPERMULE features a rotating cast of skilled and intrepid musos who channel and transcend their native genres- creating a sound that is audaciously eclectic and uniquely traditional.
Arann Harris & the Farm Band
We make pesticide free music. No overdubs, no edits, RAW. Like conventional farming, our belief is that the creation of music has become overproduced, poisoned by progress and ignores where we have come from.
Organic farming is not new, it has just been rediscovered… our music is the same. We are not doing anything new, just reminding people of our American musical history and folding in our unique Sonoma County perspective.
The Farm Band was born on a single day of live recording in a 1900′s school house on the farm itself. We chose original and traditional material with the grand plan to make people happy. This is ruff, real and to be sung out loud together.
In the heart of the creative renaissance taking shape in Oakland, California, the T Sisters are making a name for themselves as one of the West Coast’s foremost indie-Americana acts. The sisters tap into a tradition that hails from folk’s deepest roots: sibling song-making and harmonizing. As with bands like The Andrews Sisters, The Roches and The Everly Brothers, a transformative resonance rings out when the three sisters join their voices together. A follow-up to their 2014 debut release, Kindred Lines (produced by celebrated bluegrass musician Laurie Lewis), the T Sisters’ forthcoming self-titled sophomore studio album features 10 timeless songs that, while inspired by the American folk tradition, also embody a fresh and contemporary sound with inflections of pop, R&B/soul and country.
Led by sisters Erika, Rachel and Chloe Tietjen, the T Sisters first came to national recognition with a performance on A Prairie Home Companion and a widely broadcasted rendition of the national anthem at a San Francisco Giants game. The T Sisters’ awe-inspiring harmonies have impressed many prominent artists, leading to onstage collaborations with the likes of Amos Lee, Jim Lauderdale, and The Wood Brothers, as well as supporting vocal performances for three years in a row at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival (San Francisco, CA). Quickly garnering the attention of top tastemakers, the debut single “The Road” from T Sisters is already receiving early airplay on Sirius/XM, and the second album single “Come Back Down” has aired on the venerable San Francisco radio station KFOG.
The 9 original compositions and one cover song comprising T Sisters cast a portrait of life experiences replete with love, struggle, and self-discovery. The lyrical content is both contemplative and playful, and the musical style is driving and sassy, embracing a theatrical sense of rhythm, imagery and movement. While the importance of familial bonds and the sonority of sibling harmony remain intrinsic to all T Sisters music, their aptly-titled sophomore release transcends these roots and demonstrates a broader appeal than ever before.
