Danny Avila

At the grand old age of 17, Danny Avila has become one of the hottest acts in the world of EDM. From winning the 'Best Newcomer DJ' at the prestigious 2011 Vicious Music Awards at just 16, through an incredible 2012 Ibiza season that caught the attention of everyone including Tiësto and dance bible DJ Mag where he became the youngest ever Covermount CD artist, to the announcement of his residency as the youngest ever prime-time DJ on US broadcasting behemoth SiriusXM and inclusion in Billboard, MTV and Dancing Astronaut's 2013 Ones To Watch lists, Avila is the name on everyone's lips – and rightly so.

It's a story that starts over five years ago. After haggling his way into some of Spain's top club venues at the age of 12 to witness the passion and power of artists like Fedde le Grand, Afrojack, David Guetta and more from the confines of lighting booths and sound desks, the young Avila knew exactly where he wanted to be. Showing incredible determination and a vast sponge-like acquirement for music, Avila went from playing at friends' parties to warm-up spots at Ku in Benidorm – where he was first noticed by le Grand. Proving an ability beyond his years to lay down sets oozing with tribal heat and rich in track selection that burst beyond the confines of the Beatport Top 10 charts, Avila's reputation grew, and grew quickly. To anyone who's witnessed him behind the DJ booth, it has come as no surprise. To see Danny in action is to be hit with the full force of an exuberant, excitable and unbridled energy for the music that he plays and the reaction from the crowd that marks him out as a truly passionate performer who both loves and understands the dance floor and what it stands for.

Fast forward to 2012, and it proved to be a phenomenal year for the young Spaniard. After earning his stripes in illustrious company thanks to early headline slots with Fedde le Grand, Martin Solveig, Afrojack, David Guetta and the Black Eyed Peas, Danny confirmed not one, not two but three residencies in Ibiza – at the jet-set hotspot Blue Marlin, at one of the world's most celebrated venues, Space Ibiza, and at the personal behest of Tiësto, the legendary Pacha Ibiza where he appeared alongside the iconic Dutchman for an unbelievable 15 dates. A staggering 35 dates in total across the season, Danny Avila had well and truly landed on the White Isle.

While Avila was busy wowing the crowds in Ibiza, on the other side of the Atlantic, the powers that be were also paying attention. Stateside broadcasting behemoth SiriusXM, the largest purveyor of dance music on the North American continent, snapped up the teenager's 'Ready To Jump' show without a moment's hesitation, making him the youngest EVER prime-time resident to grace the airwaves – and this before Avila had even dropped a single beat on American soil. The show, a sizzling hour-long concoction of pure energy and fun is the perfect representation of the young Spaniard and has had rave reviews across the board from enamoured legions of new US fans. Finally, in September, Danny gave America and Canada what they had been waiting for with a massive inaugural tour that included a sensational three dates in NYC alone. Exploding inside DJ booths across the continent, tens of thousands witnessed both the power and creativity that had already set the European circuit ablaze. With the release of his debut single 'Breaking Your Fall' on Big Beat Records in October, the Avila wave began to build unprecedented speed, with music bible Billboard naming him as 'One To Watch' for their 2013 '21 Under 21' power list, swiftly followed by similar plaudits in the MTV Clubland list and the influential Dancing Astronaut list, underlining the huge impact Danny made in such a short space of time.

With 2013 dawning across the planet, the wave is beginning to approach tsunami levels. After further dates across North America and Europe and huge first-time appearances in key Asian cities, Danny's management announced the launch of the Generation Wild tour, teaming him up with fellow musical firebrands Deniz Koyu, dBerrie and Mikael Weermets. The first of 20 nights opens in Chicago on January 31st and is already garnering huge press interest. Add to the concoction a brand new package of edits for 'Breaking Your Fall' and the imminent news of a massive remix collaboration with one of the biggest stars in recent musical history, and it's becoming clear that if you want to keep up with Danny Avila, you need to be damn fast!

Oh – and if all that wasn't enough, he's not only spear heading the next generation of superstar DJ/producers – he's also pretty damn prolific when it comes to anything concerning a board. Verging on pro skate- and snowboarder status, Avila's also notched up 2nd in the Spanish Wakeboard Championships, 7th in the European Wakeboard Championships and 12th in the World Wakeboard Championships – as ever proving that he's ready to jump no matter what the medium!

There is, it seems, absolutely no stopping Danny Avila at whatever he turns his hand to. The future beckons, and it's practically blinding.

Dirty South

It has been an amazing ride for the Grammy Nominated DJ/Producer Dirty South aka Dragan Roganovic.

Born in Belgrade, Serbia and relocating to Melbourne, Australia when he was 13, kick started his musical journey as he started to get influenced by everything around him.

Like many other youngsters starting out in the music biz, Dragan couldn't afford turntables but he managed to improvise with his old NEC Hi-Fi and started mixing with the tape decks. From here on, Dragan developed further by making bootlegs and mashups. Next step was to get even more serious so a brand new computer, software and keyboards were needed. The first official production was released in 2004 and Dirty South was born.

Soon after that, there was an invasion of Dirty South releases and remixes. In 2005 and 2006, Dirty South was nominated for the renowned Australian Music Industry's top accolade, the ARIA awards and in 2007 he took home the "Best Producer" trophy at the inthemix top 50 awards. He did that again the following year and added best local DJ to his awards list. Since then, there have been many nominations, awards and accolades, including numerous "Essential New Tune" gongs by the legendary Pete Tong, who hosts the leading weekly global dance radio show The Essential Selection. Besides the successes he has had on his own, with releases like "It's Too Late", "Let It Go", "The End" and "Alamo", Dirty South has joined forces with some of best producers in the world and created anthems such as "Open Your Heart" with Axwell and "How Soon Is Now" with David Guetta and Sebastian Ingrosso. On the remix tip, Dirty South has given the remix treatment to some of the most recognisable names in the music industry including U2, Snoop Dogg, Tracey Thorn, Depeche Mode, David Guetta and Josh Wink.

Alongside his productions, Dirty South started developing his DJ career. At first Australian turf was covered many times, but then the demand spread overseas, and soon enough he was playing for some of the best clubs and festivals across the globe, including Ultra Music Festival, Pacha (Ibiza & New York), Ministry of Sound, Space, Vanguard, Creamfields, Global Gathering, Sensation White and many others. The heavy touring payed off, and in 2008, Dirty South was voted No.74 in the DJ MAG Top 100 competition.

In between his heavy touring and producing schedule, there has always been time to do a yearly mix CD, and Dirty South has put his name down to compilations for labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Toolroom Records, Cr2 and SONY to name a few.
This summer has seen the birth of the Phazing concept, from the label of the same name to its first release from Dirty South called 'Phazing' which went on to be one of the anthems of 2010 to the 'Phazing Nights' branded live events, next year Phazing will continue to grow.
With only a few short years under his belt in the international production scene, Dirty South's potential to achieve tremendous musical heights seems limitless.

This is the story so far, and there is definitely more to come from Dirty South…

Nicky Romero

Nicky Romero, born on 6 January 1989 grew up in a small city called "Amerongen", lived in Canada (Kingston) for a few years.

Nicky hits the first snare drum at the age of 6 and started playing drums in a fanfare. After playing a year or three, he'd been asked to play in a huge group who had acts on street and big events. That was fun though, but not enough for small Nicky. At the age of 12 he got is first set of Drums, and started practising, practising and practising. Well, after 3 years playing drums everyday and night , it was enough and he changed the drums for turntables.

School never had his interest, so after graduating he started producing music. And after hours, hours and hours of practising (throw lots of computers out of the window) he got his first label called "Once Records", who's going to release the tracks: Privilege & QWERTY.

After that deal, the next track came up called "Funktion One". From that moment everything went very fast. Dutch famous DJ/Producer Madskillz got interested in "Funktion One" from that on Nicky signed Funktion at Azucar (from Madskillz & Gregor Salto). Later they added "Hear My Sound" to their label two!

These day's allmost every high rated DJ has a few Romero records in his bag, last summer he did a remix for "Sidney Samson & Tony Cha Cha - Get On The Floor" and a bootleg for "David Guetta - When Love Takes Over". Both tracks got alot ofpublicity in the world, even Ministry of Sound Australia contacted him for doing some remixes on their label! About a few hundred movie's came up at youtube from dj's who playing the Nicky Romero bootleg from When Love Takes Over! He also did a remix for one and only "Dirty South - Alamo" to be found at Beatport now!

Nicky's track, "My Friend", which contains a sample of the well known track: "Groove Armada – My Friend". The combination between Groove Armada and fresh Romero sound results in a monster track. Nicky Romero – My Friend is played by "Tiesto, Axwell, Fedde le Grand, Sander van Doorn" and more! This track reached #4 at Beatport worldwide overall chart, #1 at Dance-Tunes chart and several famous DJ charts. He just finished up a brandnew remix for Robin-S at one of USA' biggest labels called ULTRA.

Nicky's sound growing keep an eye on him these day's, lot's of new stuff coming up!

From the ashes of the Soviet empire, from the flames of history, rises PROXY. Post 9/11 rave vibes cloaked in Muscovite angst. A line drawn in smoking rubble along the border dividing East and West, Stüssy and Spetsnaz.

1997. The Year of Tar and Horses. The Prodigy plays Red Square in Moscow. Hundreds of thousands of people attend the show, but only one is truly changed. By the crushing sound. By people absolutely losing their shit to synths and sustained aggression.

The experience causes PROXY to question the quality and purpose of Russian "electrica" acts like Nu-Lag Xpressions and Sweatislav. There was simply no scene from which to emerge. "Whatever a fool does, he does it wrong. A poor dancer is impeded even by his own balls," he recalls.

In a decade's time, PROXY would be remixing Prodigy and opening for them on a massive tour of Russia.

2004. PROXY grows interested in the increasingly punishing sounds of the electro scene, as he hears Tiga sing "Hey You Little Children of Glasnost" at the W Hotel in Anzhero-Sudzhensk.

2006. PROXY reaches out to Tiga via his MySpace page. Thomas Von Party intercepts the message and is stunned by fully formed landmines like "Destroy". Masquerading as Tiga, he signs PROXY to Turbo Recordings, beginning his own deceit-fueled ascent up the biz-ladder of the music ladder-business.

2007 to present. PROXY earns respect and awe from such heavyweights as Justice, Soulwax, Boys Noize, Erol Alkan and Mr. Oizo with astonishing, severe tracks like "Decoy", "Dance in Dark" and the massive "Raven", which merits special mention not just because of its ubiquity, but because it illustrates in full the singular power of PROXY MUSIC.

Recall, if you will, the first time you were ever caught in an explosion. Close enough to the blast that the only things that register are a light beyond blinding and a sound that arrives too soon. Now imagine that as you lose your body to the fire you are reassembled, better, your self subsumed by something far greater (for many, this experience seems to manifest itself as sitting in obedient unison). The sound now commands you, transmuting you into the screaming, searing blare.

PROXY has also produced remixes for Peaches, Prodigy, Tiga, Boys Noize, Chromeo, Digitalism, Moby and a host of others willing to pay him in Kocmoc cigarettes. The coming months will see him co-headline a huge New Year's Eve show with Soulwax in Australia and embark on his first North American tour, which will include shows at major festivals.

As rumor fills the Earth of the impending release of his debut album, PROXY demurs, "I hear it, and it's mine, and you stay away from me," before reluctantly conceding that it will drop in 2010.

"My music tells you what to do, but never why. Your ear may be afraid, but your body completes its labor."

"Bringing music with energy" that's what Quintino stands for with his big smile and passion to pump up the crowd like no other can!
He started DJing at the age of 15. When he was only 18, he was discovered by Laidback Luke and he released his first tracks "Girls", "Wooker" and "SupersoniQ". Quintino's big breakthrough came when he remixed Cidinho & Doca's track "Rap Das Armas" in April of 2009, which became a massive worldwide club hit and which also topped the Dutch sales and airplay charts, meanwhile reaching over 10 milion Youtube views.
His next major chart hit, "Heaven", a collaboration with soul singer Mitch Crown, was released in August 2009. This release was another major hit for Quintino and was one of the most played radio records in 2009. The follow up single was released in 2010. "You Can't Deny", again with vocals by Mitch Crown, and was also a big success.
In 2010 Quintino founded his own label SupersoniQ Records, which released many superior club tracks, like "Fire" by Quintino & The Partysquad, "Drop The Beat" &"Sustain" by Quintino and the amazing club banger "I Feel".
Quintino's schedule is as crazy as can be. Quintino does more than 200 shows per year in Benelux alone. His summer tour is already fully booked, performing in countries like Spain, Bulgaria and Greece. One of the biggest experiences of the past year is dropping his latest tracks 'Selecta' in front of 300.000 people during Queensday in Holland. The club banger produced together with Afrojack hit the Beatport top 10 Main Chart! 'Music Oh' is a collaboration with Apster and has been released on Laidback Luke's Mixmash Records. This man is born to entertain! Uplifting each crowd with his feel good vibe!
