Wolfgang Gartner

In the often serious world of dance music, it's good to see somebody still having a bit of fun. Meet Wolfgang Gartner, or as he's known to his parents; Joey Youngman. At first glance the name Wolfgang Gartner is a fairly recent blip on dance music's collective radar, but dig a little deeper and you'll discover a robust discography, amassed by a seasoned veteran of the music industry.
Currently residing in Austin, Texas, this 26-year-old California transplant has been producing dance music since he was 11 years old. While most kids were playing Nintendo and after-school sports, Youngman was syncing a drum machine to a keyboard and teaching himself to make tracks. His career didn't hit center stage until 2003 however, when after a decade of pounding on the industry's door he landed his first big break and began putting out records.
The early years of Youngman's discography boasted releases and remixes on dozens of respected house labels like Tango, Om Records, Naked Music, Doubledown, and his own imprints; Fetish Recordings & Jackin Tracks. He donned a slew of production aliases including Mario Fabriani, White Collar Criminals, Frequent Fliers, and a few other colorful guises that helped to spice up an exceedingly frequent release schedule.
In 2004, Youngman signed onto the esteemed Blue Collar Entertainment roster and started focusing more time on his other passion: DJ'ing. The move sparked a series of global tours and increased his exposure to audiences around the world. To date, Joey Youngman has performed on every continent. From Japan to South Africa, Russia, Ibiza, and everywhere in between, the air miles have stacked up along-side his innate ability to work a dancefloor.
2007 marked a major step in Youngman's career with the introduction of his new moniker: Wolfgang Gartner. The new name was created to explore a new sound, without feeling confined to the musical boundaries of his previous projects. "I was getting bored with house, with that whole sound," he says. "I basically hadn't evolved musically since the late 90's and had been rehashing the same ideas over and over. Something just snapped and I decided it was time for a complete change."
It was apparent from the first Wolfgang Gartner release that Youngman was onto something big. In a period of less than a year and a half, Wolfgang Gartner had landed 6 number one's on Beatport.com's sales charts, a Pete Tong "essential new tune of the week" on BBC's Radio 1, three video game licenses, over 70,000 units in download sales, and a plethora of DJ support and accolades within the industry. It was early 2008 when Youngman made the decision to pursue the Wolfgang Gartner project full-time. "It's so hard to do 2 things really well at the same time," he says. "I realized that I had to pick something and stick to it. So I decided that this new style is the direction I want to go, and to focus all my time and energy on."- Wolfgang Gartner

The Crystal Method

The Crystal Method is an American electronic music duo that was created in Los Angeles, California by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland in the early 1990s. The Crystal Method's music has appeared in numerous TV shows, films, video games, and advertisements. The most prominent is the US television series, Bones (2005–present). Their best-selling album, Vegas, was certified platinum in 2007.
The Crystal Method is made up of two members, Ken B. Jordan and Scott Heisler Kirkland. Both of them were born in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kirkland was born when his mother was only fifteen. He grew up listening to his mother's music—disco—and his father's music—rock. When he had grown a little older, he began listening to heavy metal, as well as bands like Depeche Mode. Ken Jordan also grew up listening to classic rock and '80s electronica.

Josh Gard has had a long history in music, but lately he has been rapidly rising up the ranks for all things bass. Just a few short years ago he donned the name Figure and began making electro house, but has since become a regular name in all realms of electronic and dance. Scoring positions among the charts may have gotten him recognition, but a hefty amount of praise has been raining down on him lately as some of the leading artists in electronic music have valued his live performance skills as some of the best in the business.
With releases alongside industry heavyweights Diplo, Tommy Lee, Flux Pavillion, Excision, BT, Tommy Sunshine, and Borgore, as well as a robust catalog of originals, bootlegs, and remixes, Figure's signature sound has earned him a cult following amongst a growing number of insatiable fans. In 2011, his Monsters of Drumstep series married is love of horror with his immense production skills to become the soundtrack to the Halloween season. His follow up "Destruction Series" added a new ride to the amusement park with twists and turns through an intergalactic electro war armed with robots and missile drop laser synths.
"I just like how artists present a package of something close to an adventure… Like a theme park of sound that is an experiment and experience for everyone," states Gard.
When he's not on tour or recording in his home-town studios in rural Indiana, he's touring worldwide including packed tents at festival like EDC, SnowGlobe, Starscape, The Bounce, Creamfields Australia, and Dour Music Festival. His constant interaction with fans is more akin to maintaining a healthy family than what one usually finds in a social media marketing age. Supporters are supplied with the latest productions for free and guest list are reserved for fans in need.

Flosstradamus spent the last 8 years breaking new sounds around the globe and becoming club kings in the process. But how do they keep doing it? J2K and Autobot's knack for flipping your favorite tracks in unexpected new ways (from their earliest DJ blends to high-energy hybrids like the duo's hit remix of Major Lazer's "Original Don") certainly helps. So does having a catalog of original bangers, as their two Jubilation EPs on Fool's Gold can attest.

Yet the real reason Floss has been able to reinvent party rocking for close to a decade is because these Chicago boys bring an irresistible sense of fun to every single set, whether it's at a sweat-soaked nightclub or in front of thousands at Lollapalooza. Armed with a gang of new tunes straight from the studio and a brand new, extra-hype stage show, Flosstradamus is coming back to a town near you… get ready to juke!

A versatile solo producer, crowd riling DJ, owner of the revered Frite Nite label (B. Bravo, Eprom, Ana Sia) and key figure in the Friends of Friends collective, Paul Salva knows how to control a room. After dropping one of 2012's biggest tracks, a collaborative remix of Kanye West's "Mercy" that not only reached #1 on Soundcloud, but received spins on Power 106 FM (LA), Power 105 FM (NYC), and Shade45XM, Salva's work promotes complexity through a synthesis of contrasting styles, showcasing dips into house motifs, grooves in smooth boogie funk, and massive roiling bass waves that has garnered support from the likes of Pitchfork, FADER, FACT, BBC's Benji B and Skream & Benga, A-Trak, Low End Theory, Snoop Dogg, Diplo, Dâm-Funk, Night Slugs, and many others.

A Chicago native who developed his craft in San Francisco and currently resides in Los Angeles, Salva has been invited to perform on the world's biggest stages. A 2011 alum of the Red Bull Music Academy, 2012 has seen Salva perform at Sonar, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Mutek Montreal, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, SXSW, The Do Over LA, Low End Theory, Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival and many others, while touring alongside Nguzunguzu, Shlohmo, Pearson Sound, and B2Bs with Machinedrum.

Aside from his live performances, Salva hones his production talents as one of the cornerstones of the Friends of Friends label alongside Shlohmo, Mexicans With Guns and Groundislava. His 2011 debut full-length, 'Complex Housing' and 'Yellobone' EP both received critical acclaim (Pitchfork, FADER, FACT, and others), leading him to exclusive mixes for Mary Anne Hobbs, The FADER, and XLR8R, while being asked to remix the likes of Miguel Migs, Glitch Mob, Rainbow Arabia, Om Unit and others.

As label owner, Salva has seen his Frite Nite imprint emerge as one of North America's premier sources of West Coast electronic bass music, exploring all corners of the electronic soundscape and harnessing diversity to produce compositions that transcend genre boundaries.

'Yellobone' EP available now on Friends of Friends Music.

The Toronto-based trio – comprised of the high-energy Adam Tune on drums, synth-master David Matisse on keys, and internationally award-winning Jr. Flo on turntables – began by locking themselves in a rehearsal room for six months to create and finesse their unique sound and identity.

The result? A blend of trap, hip hop and improvisation that truly shows off the artistry of the live remix. Keys N Krates collage raw samples and twist them with live instrumentation, creating a unique party sound. KNK blends clever sample collaging, epic synths, big bass, and funky drum grooves into a sonically unified collection of songs.

KNK has been featured in such publications as URB, Fader, and Antenna magazine. They have toured with and played alongside artists including Pretty Lights, Lotus, Skrillex, Girl Talk, Kid Cudi, Metric, Timbaland, Zed's Dead and more. In 2011/12, the band broke out on the festival scene, playing Ultra Music Festival, Camp Bisco, Electric Forest, North Coast, Moe's Summer Camp, Re-Generation and Blues Fest. After producing distinctive remixes of songs by artists such as MGMT, Jay Z, Bassnectar, Diplo, Drake, and Florence + The Machine, Keys N Krates were commissioned to create official remixes for Lotus, Lyrics Born, and OK GO.

To really grasp what Tune, Matisse and Jr. Flo bring to the stage, you have to see it up close. Their shows are filled with high-energy sets that are made to be witnessed live. The guys continue to craft and grow their sound and style, exposing audiences worldwide to the Keys N Krates experience.
