Mad Conductor

Mad Conductor

Touring extensively in the United States and also in Europe and Canada, along with consistently releasing highly original, captivating music has earned Mad Conductor a devoted cult following around the world - operating out of New Orleans. Their new album, MC Rises, released May 2013, is being greatly received by an ever-growing audience. Currently the live band consists of MC Devlin as lead vocalist with five players mainly stationed on keyboard, bass guitar, electric guitar, saxophone and drum-kit, also offering back-up vocals, with several members platooning between baritone saxophone, synthesizer and hand percussion.

Mad Conductor was formed in 2005 in Center Valley, PA by studio engineer and pianist Dan McKinney and song writer and vocalist MC Devlin. Beginning their work in Dan's House Studio, the duo combined hip-hop, funk, reggae, blues, jazz and psychedelic rock to form a unique, innovative sound. After releasing their first EP, Mechanical Claw, on Christmas that year, MC Devlin formed a live band and began touring the following spring, traveling to Europe and all corners of the United States. During this time, the band was also writing and recording, and in June of 2007 self-released their first full-length, "Renegade Space Rock", of which over 5,000 copies have been sold to date.

The band continued touring, and after releasing a two song EP titled "Members Only" in February of 2008, MC Devlin moved to New Orleans where he planned on writing a new album and returning to Pennsylvania to record it in three months. Instead, upon arriving in New Orleans, MC Devlin put his musical efforts on hiatus and spent the next three years dedicating himself primarily to Kung Fu training, meanwhile releasing only an obscure 4 song EP titled "Central America" in January of 2010 . After receiving a black belt in the spring of 2011, he assembled a live line up of New Orleans musicians and resumed touring in the United States releasing a single that June titled "Lethal Protector". The band will be touring extensively from here on out, delivering to the world their inimitable brand of space rock!
