Meat Puppets Announce 2017 West Coast Tour Headlining March 14-25

Until last September, things were relatively quiet in Meat Puppets 2016 world. Then Riotfest popped up on their schedule. There are not too many “firsts” left for the Puppets to experience, but out of the blue, Curt was invited to meet with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders (!!) at Suder Montessori Magnet School in Chicago.

Suder teacher Rachel Jacobson was the match maker:

“I have put forth the idea that Curt Kirkwood is the coolest person that walks
the earth and my kids have bought in…showing up will confirm it all.”

When the kids dropped a video along with the invite, https://splice.gopro.com/v?id=YpQbL5q1L, that did it, and the band got to cut loose with the kids singing along.

Tears were had.

Following that outing, the band has started to revisit the folk and singer-song writer nuggets Curt put out in 2005 on his solo masterpiece, Snow, as well as similarly veined tracks from Rat Farm (“Sometimes Blue”).

In March 2017, the Puppets are headed back to the west coast for a two week tour.

Enemy Planes

Although ENEMY PLANES was formed a short while ago in early 2012 by members of Pictures of Then and Solid Gold, the band has managed to garner a mounting heap of buzz in just a short while. Since their inception, they have been hard at it, wielding their seductive brand of tripnotic electro-rock, replete with technological wizardry, all across the nation. Tallying up featured slots at CMJ, SXSW and Summerfest, along with a 2013 summer/fall tour as direct support for the Meat Puppets, their commanding live persona has quickly turned heads, earning them appearances on Daytrotter.com (available fall 2013), MPR 89.3 The Current and Cities 97 Studio C. Shortly after SXSW 2012, the band caught the attention of acclaimed director Tobias Stretch, (known for his work with Radiohead), and the decision was made to join forces to produce their first video single, filmed on historic Coney Island amidst the aftermath of hurricane sandy. Affording a beautiful yet haunting glimpse into the heart of the band, the debut music video for "We Want Blood" (taken from the forthcoming album "Beta Lowdown), was met with high praise, and serves to offer a small taste of big things yet to come from Minneapolis, MN based ENEMY PLANES.
