Mellow Bravo

In the winter of 2009, Andrew Doherty (Codetta/Motherboar) and David Jarvis (Codetta/Stu Walker) had time on their hands, and a pile of riffs to work with. Despite being involved in modern rock and metal projects, this time the goal was to harness the sound and power of 70's arena rock and try to blend it with the energy and soulfulness of Motown. The two invited singer Keith Pierce (Hydronaut/Buried in Leather) to an informal rehearsal. It became clear in the first hour of rehearsal that Mellow Bravo was going to be an exciting band.
Soon after, Jess Collins (Static Dynamic/Baby Boy H), Jeff Fultz (Seamless/Bloodwitch) and Steve Fanale (Bacchus King) joined on. That summer Mellow Bravo booked their first show; a sold out day-time BBQ at O'Brien's. The show was so successful that by the end of the weekend, they had already booked a residency there for the fall. Steve Fanale left the band to pursue other projects. He was replaced by Seager Tennis (Buried in Leather/Toxic Narcotic), thus completing the current line-up. Good things came very quickly as Mellow Bravo went on to headline the St. Patrick's Day party at Great Scott with Mid-Atlantic and a string of high profile shows in Boston and NYC and after just one year, Mellow Bravo has been headlining shows throughout Boston.
Mellow Bravo's music is extremely dynamic from song to song and the band decided to take an innovative approach by recording their debut full length at three separate recording studios (New Alliance, Mad Oak and Camp Street). Mellow Bravo released Strut on September 10, 2010 at the Middle East Downstairs to a packed house and will be playing very soon in a city near you.
Viva Viva

With influences from the heyday of the 60's and 70's, their sound is equal parts infectious-pop and dark-stomping-blues, combined with their own blend of hope, disappointment, grit, and wit.
In 2005, when Dave Vicini (lead singer, formerly of The Lot Six) moved into an apartment in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, MA, with Chris Warren (singer/guitarist, formerly of Officer May), the friends already had an idea that they should be in a band together. Their previous bands had shared bills and even covered each other's songs. Before long, six Chuck Taylor boxes full of 4-tracks were recorded in their apartment. Then they decided they should find a band and make a record.
Viva Viva's reputation has grown steadily over the years, from those apartment recording sessions to the music hall-shaking, band they are today. Dan Burke (bass, formerly of The Lot Six), Fumika Kato (keyboard) and Dominic Mariano (drums), complete the sound that is causing a stir in the Boston music scene.
The Boston Phoenix Music Editor, Michael Marotta wrote, "the legend of Viva Viva has grown exponentially on the shoulders of explosive live performances" in his Fall Arts Preview article. Their unbridled energy can be heard on their debut self-titled album, out on Fort Port Recordings. "Basically we're the second greatest band in the world," says Vicini. "Yeah, second to the Rolling Stones circa '72," adds Warren. "We’re not trying to re-invent the wheel, just keep it rolling," says Warren.
The Organ Beats

Three piece from outside Boston, formed in 2008. Adonis and Zinc are siblings who started making music as preteens and were tour veterans before they were able to buy cigarettes. Recently a line up change occurred and they quickly chose to call upon an old friend. Ted is a solid addition to the sibling duo. He generally plays guitar in hardcore bands but gratefully accepted the invite into stoner pop county.
The 9 track album 'Sleep When We Are Dead' was recorded in the summer 2009 in a small studio outside of Houston TX over the course of 3 weeks. The songs convey strength and determination. They are heartfelt pop jams with colorful imagery and a keen sense of wonder. The drums are a solid platform laid out to support crunchy guitars, singing solos, catchy melodies and a voice that belts out epic chorus'.
