Kristi Stice

Kristi Stice is a songwriter with a wide variety of musical influences as diverse as Leonard Cohen, Jolie Holland, and Billie Holiday. She completed her studies of jazz voice in 2007 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and returned to her home in Colorado in 2010.
Recently she has been opening up for more well known songwriter's in Denver, and released her first album, “under the willow,” on January 26, 2013. With her influence of jazz, classical, and folk, her music conveys an original sound that varies from traditional folk music, but still holds true to the root of her love of songwriting. Kristi is often accompanied by cello and accordion, while playing a nylon string guitar.
Not only is Kristi an accomplished performer but she also has worked with a well known violinist and songwriter in Florida named Rebecca Zapen. They have played at various music festivals throughout Florida, including the Florida Folk Festival, and the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival. They also played in the Independent Music World Series in Nashville together. Kristi was chosen to sing at Jacoby Hall with the Jacksonville Symphony to harmonize with violinist Mark Wood of the Transyberian Orchestra. She won a songwriter's competition at the St. Augustine Seafood Festival and was thereafter featured in the publication EU Jacksonville.
OpenAir CPR 1340 AM aired a live interview and recording session of Kristi and cellist Phil Norman on June 4th, 2013. She was chosen for the best of OpenAir Sessions and her interview and recording was aired on KCFR 90.1 FM, Denver's NPR station on June 6th and June 9th, 2013.
