Eros and the Eschaton
Bar/None Records is thrilled to announce the signing of North Carolina duo, Eros and the Eschaton. The venerable New Jersey indie label will release the band's debut full-length record this summer.
Eros and the Eschaton is Kate Perdoni and Adam Hawkins, backed by a group of friends when performing live. The two met in Omaha, Nebraska with Perdoni performing solo as Katey Sleeveless and Hawkins as It's True!. Touring together, each taking a turn off stage to watch their baby boy, Eros was born after one such show in Greensboro, North Carolina. Feeling it was as good a place as any, they rented a house and began writing songs together, inspired by their new child, their new life, and their new location.
With a sound that brings elements of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Yo La Tengo, filtered through a bright-eyed view, Eros and the Eschaton self-released two singles in 2012, began touring whenever possible and caught the ears of Bar/None through a session with Love Drunk Studio in conjunction with Hear Nebraska, whose Andrew Norman said, "As a couple and as a band, Kate Perdoni and Adam Hawkins stand brave and vulnerable... strong enough and ready to tackle whatever comes."
