Metro-Detroit native Grant Kwiecinski (born May 31st, 1990) better know by his stage name "GRiZ" is an independent American electronic music artist. Begging his career as a classically trained Alto Saxophone and piano player he was attracted to electronic music production at the young age of 14
with a spiked interest in the workings of hip-hop instrumentals and his exposure to IDM (intelligent dance music). Stylistically, GRiZ creates bass infused hip-hop, electro soul, and future funk sounding productions often accompanied by the live performance and recording of his Alto Saxophone and the use of an array of vinyl samples. GRiZ debuted his first full-length album late summer on Sept 4th '12 titled "Mad Liberation" that has garnered him major buzz and exposure worldwide, racking up over 40,000+ downloads within it's first 2 weeks of being released, all organically. 2012 has proven that GRiZ is not a name to forget. With the summer being filled with some huge
festival performances including some notable plays at Electric Forest, Coachella, Movement (Detroit Electronic Music Festival), and Summer Set. He also joined Gramatik for his Digital Freedom tour, as well as some spread-out small headline dates in the mix. Fall 2012 for GRiZ looks to be pretty eventful,
jumping on Big Gigantic and Bassnectar's tours, then off playing a small run of his own intimate headline shows across the nation.
When drawing from the right pool of inspiration, sometimes the right mixture of sounds can come together and make something new. Possibly something hard to put one name on. Today people like to jump on the next genre bandwagon, and intentionally make music that fits one genre. SuperVision is not about one sound. Instead it is about many sounds brought together with an approach that delivers a stylistic sound design that isn't classified with one or two words. It is a sound that you can count on evolving without departing from what makes it unique.
The sounds created and played by SuperVision are the works of Richard Blake Hansen. With a DJ career spanning over 12 years and 1000+ gigs, his place in the music industry has been found. Within a couple of years of DJing he was cutting his teeth in music production. He moved to Fort Collins Colorado in 2002 and met Derek Vincent Smith and Michal Menert. After studying production and learning from the best, he went on to audio engineering school. He has enjoyed sharing the stage with such well known acts as Pretty Lights, Michal Menert, DJ AM, Jazzy Jeff, Public Enemy, DJ Craze, Klever, DJ Skribble, Steve Aoki, Tommie Sunshine, Quest Love, Classixx, La Riots, Villains, RJD2, and Ghostland Observatory.. to name a few. Now SuperVision has arrived.
Jesse Brede has been a staple of the Electronic Music scene in Austin since 1999. In 2000, Jesse teamed up with Lance Cashion, founder of Slow Motion Music, to bring in international Djs such as Digweed, Kleinenbeg, Fortier, Hybrid and Sandra Collins to Austin. Lance used Jesse's sound company and visuals for their exclusive events. Over the last 10 years, Jesse has played along side the likes of Sasha, John Digweed, Quivver, Hybrid, James Zabiela, Adam Freeland, Satoshi Tomiie, Josh Wink, Lee Burridge, Chris Fortier, Kaskade, Sandra Collins and many more.
