LTrain

LTrain are native New Yorkers caught up in a romance with their city. The band named after the subway train which travels from Manhattan to Brooklyn and Queens, was struck by the variety of social classes using the line. Its members, Crystalla Gonzalez (Vocals), Gabriel Castellar (Guitar/Vocals), Hiro Yamao (Bass), and Tristan Green (Drums), grew up listening to various genres of music; from Rock to Funk to Jazz and Punk. LTrain began in January of 2011, busking on the subways with a song called "On The Train" and a dream; to use their music to best express what they believe is the true spirit of New York City.
Ltrain's music blurs the lines between authenticity and commerciality, producing songs that are both refined and disarmingly catchy. With the combination of sweet and soulful vocals, funky psychedelic guitar playing, thought provoking lyrics, and consistently sharp musicianship transform their tracks into instantly memorable gems you don’t want out of your head.

Since their start in 2011, they have been fortunate enough to play venues such as Gramercy Theater, The Bitter End and The Knitting Factory, they have also been featured in "The Noise Beneath The Apple", a book documenting local NYC bands that busk on the subway. LTrain plans to release an EP titled "Can't Pay Bills" the thematic tone will discuss the constant struggles a person experiences when trying to live in a metropolis like New York. It covers topics such as personal hardships, varying ethnicities, neighborhoods and social classes of the city that they have grown to love so much. This EP will be released in early 2014.
