Zoe Muth & The Lost High Rollers
Whether nailing an upbeat honky-tonk tune or a slow, sad story-song, Zoe Muth's music is so honest and familiar, you'll wonder why you haven't heard it yet. Growing up in the hometown of Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, Muth was raised on old school rock before discovering the Anthology of American Folk Music in high school. Later, she naturally gravitated toward that songwriting style and before long she'd amassed a remarkably tight backing band, plucked a name for them from Townes Van Zandt's "No Lonesome Tune," and decided to make a record. That self-titled debut album won attention not only from her hometown of Seattle (tastemaker blog Sound on the Sound called her "without doubt, one of the finest songwriters in Seattle") it also earned praise from the worldwide press. Her second album, Starlight Hotel, released in April and further cements her Americana cred.
The Silver Threads (CA)
The Silver Threads hail out of San Francisco’s bay area. Inspired by greats such as Lowell George, The Rolling Stones, Warren Zevon and Bob Dylan, their music tells stories about life, living and everything in between.
MISS LONELY HEARTS
Miss Lonely Hearts, started in the central valley of CA, is a band that lays down hard driving Honky Tonk/Rock & Roll. Their sound was created out of a deep authentic understanding and appreciation of the roots country music that evolved in this nation. Their lead singer/songwriter was introduced to traditional country at a very young age and perfected his gut bucket vocal stylings singing George Jones and Hank Sr. tunes on the streets for change. At the same time their percussionist was living in New Orleans learning to play on a homemade suitcase drumkit. Their Upright bassist is the energy core of the band and gets every man in the crowd dancing and every girl in the crowd swooning. Every song is a dark, drunken, broken hearted hymn set to an unavoidably danceable tempo and intended to drive a crowd to a near fever pitch.
