DeeCee's Soul Shakedown is bringing the party back to the East Bay where it all started. We are celebrating 10 years of positive party promotions in the Bay Area. This night we have a who's who of the top local DJs and a special performance by one of Cali's favorite reggae bands hailing from Santa Barbara. This will be an after hours affair that you will never forget.
No other DJ in the world will ever be a member of the three most innovative and influential DJ crews to ever exist. As a member of the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Beat Junkies and Triple Threat DJs, Shortkut's contributions to the DJ world greatly assisted in building this culture into the multi-million dollar industry it is today. His years of musical experience and unparalleled presence in the national and international circuits exemplifies his passion and dedication to a culture he helped create. In 2007, Shortkut celebrated 20 years as a DJ, producer, DJ equipment designer, and battle champion.
"One of the most respected DJs to grace the Bay Area, Miguel Escobedo has been manning the decks for over two decades, starting in 1987.
In 1997, he landed a gig the Beatlounge (at Club Deco), home to the San Francisco underground turntablism scene home to world renowned DJs Apollo and Shortkut.
He started promoting and produced the event, "Da Joint", where brought a lot of world famous and local DJs to San Francisco. Mr. E has DJed in almost every club in the city and graced Rock the Bells for four years in a row. In addition, he has worked with most of the top promoters and renowned artists, such as True Skool, Massive Selector, Distortion 2 Static, Triple Threat DJs, the Beat Junkies, the Executioners, the Rub, Local 1200, Jah Warrior Hi Fi Shelter, Mos Def, KRS 1, ?uestlove, Grand Master Flash, De la Soul, Big Daddy Kane, Sister Nancy, Collie Buddz, 5th Platoon, Talib Kweli, etc .
In 1999, he opened the restaurant, "Papalote" with his brother, which has garnered much attention recently as they won the culinary battle against the Food Network's Bobby Flay."

(born October 16, 1976) Jah Yzer also known as BMK (Blunt Masta Kash) is a DJ, producer, and emcee. He is considered a prominent figure in the reggae scene and was first noticed on air with Bay Area’s number one hip hop radio station “106 KMEL”. Jah Love Universal and KMEL organized a live sound clash airing round one, and then continued the competition at “The End Up’s party known as Club Dread” in San Francisco. Jah Warrior Shelter took the trophy over Queen Dons and Vibes Supreme, and Jah Yzer’s career was on a rise.
DJ Green B
Green B, a California native, became obsessed with reggae while living in Boston in the 90's and scored her first pair of of Technics when she moved back to the Bay Area in 2001. Fast forward ten years and she is now one of the top reggae~dancehall djs in California. Known for her mixcd series: "Hot Gyal Promotion" each disc from volume 1 to 5.2 are a seamless mix of new reggae~dancehall music, keeping you up-to-di time on what's hot outta of Jamaica, the UK, and around the world.
DJ Smoky aka SMOKE-1
Born and raised in E. Oakland, DJ SMOKY is a product of the mid ’80′s breakdance era, when records where the natural medium of music maneuvering. Growing up with influences from RUN DMC & TOO $HORT to STEEL PULSE & SIZZLA, the musical recipe was born. Specializing in reggae and hip-hop DJ SMOKY focuses on the Bay Area as the place to play. DJ SMOKY has played all over n. america on the summer and winter VANS tour for over 10 years, MOUNTAIN DEW TOUR, X GAMES, MAMMOTH WCI contest, GRAVITY GAMES, BURTON US OPEN, as well as playing for the 2002 WINTER OLYMPIC HALF-PIPE contest in Park City, Utah. SMOKY has backed the likes of: KRS-1/DEAD PREZ/TALIB KWELI/WU-TANG/TOO SHORT/CUTTY RANKS/JR. REID/SHINEHEAD/ROCKER-T/HIEROGLYPHICS/GANGSTARR, and works with all the boss DJ’s in the Bay.
Today, you can find him at his KING OF KINGS REGGAE SUNDAYS night club in uptown oakland at The New Parish, the premier weekly reggae/dancehall party in the Bay since April 20, 2002. So come down to Oakland on a Sunday night & skank to the sounds of the best reggae / dancehall DJ’s in the Bay Area.

California-based, Cornerstone, has been pumping out high-energy reggae since 2005. Their style has evolved into an emerging urban reggae sound like no other. Comprised of Santa Barbara's local reggae veterans, this all- star line up fuses traditional reggae with a conscious Californian urban vibe to create a unique sound, while staying true to the fundamentals of roots reggae. The album, self-titled "Cornerstone" was mastered by two-time Grammy nominated mastering engineer, John Greenham and delivers a sonic wave of timeless reggae music.
