Maxwell Hughes CD Release

Maxwell Hughes

Maxwell Hughes began playing at age 16 in his hometown of Fort Collins, CO. He began writing terrible songs and slowly improved over time. This self-taught instrumentalist received his first recognition in 2004 by winning a local Battle of the Bands as a solo artist. Today, he is a multi-award winning guitarist of a rare breed.

In 2010, Hughes joined world sensation, The Lumineers, focusing his skills as a singer/songwriter. From 2010-2011 he toured with The Lumineers and co-wrote 2 songs on their chart topping, self titled, debut album. From there, Hughes released his second album, Express, and spent 6 months traveling and playing music throughout S.E Asia and Central America. In September 2012, Hughes won 3rd place in the prestigious International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in Windfield, KA.

Hughes’ live show is one that must be seen. His unique style and intricate two handed technique produces a tremendous sound-smoothie of melody, harmony and percussion. Drink it up! His music, engaging presence and humor are undeniably entertaining and his cross genre writing style will win over any music lover.

Hughes has two full-length instrumental albums with a third and fourth in the works. Available on itunes.
