Finntroll is an extreme metal and folk metal band from Helsinki, Finland. They combine elements of black metal, death metal, and folk metal with a type of Finnish folk music called humppa. Finntroll's lyrics are mostly in Swedish, the only exception being the song "Madon Laulu" on Visor Om Slutet. Finntroll's first singer Katla decided to use Swedish over Finnish since he was part of a Swedish-speaking minority in Finland and the sound of the language seemed to better suit the band's "trollish" outfit. Despite several vocalist changes, this tradition has since been continued.

On 24 February 1999, three men held a meeting at the borders of the Pääsküla bog, in the singer and guitar player Markus's basement, one of whom could play a little bit of guitar, another who knew how to play a little bit of drums, and a third who had come up with a sufficiently ancient-sounding name that would be just right for a heavy metal band – 'Metsatöll' (the name "Metsatöll" is an ancient Estonian euphemism for wolf). The thought soon turned into reality and over the next few days four or five songs were composed and a couple of months later there was an entire album-full of them. The demo album Terast mis hangund me hinge was released in the autumn of 1999. Soon afterwards, Lauri joined the band, bringing with him a second guitar, the torupill, kannels and flutes.

* On their homepage, and to date their releases, Metsatöll uses the chronology of the local natural religion. It begins with the Billingen catastrophe of 8213 before Common Era, when the Baltic ice lake broke its way into the ocean and most of the current territory of Estona appeared from under the water.

If ever there was a test case proving that hard work, tenacity, a healthy helping of suffering, and word of mouth pay off, Blackguard is it. Formed in 2001 by guitarist Terry Roadcase and drummer Justine "Juice" Éthier as a straight-ahead black-metal outfit, the Montreal-based sextet—who clawed their way into the public eye under the dauntingly ponderous name of Profugus Mortis—has fought a pitched battle to stand out amongst their international metal brethren, having braved numerous line-up changes and much needed sonic tweaking to get to where they were in 2008.

Promethean Horde

Formed Originally as a Studio project in 1999. The project had been put on hold for a few years. Mike moved away and Nickulus went on to do Various other projects such as Decaying Creation, Eviscerator, and then Paths of Possession. Reunited in 2004 we had been reborn writing material between the two Brothers. Over the last 5 years Promethean Horde has searched for just the right combination of members with Jechael(Amon) as their first addition. We began rewriting and revamping the old material to meet our musicianship. 2 years later we enlisted our 4th man Alex(Fall to Prey) on drum duties. Now with Jack(Paths of Possession) and Jones(Fall to Prey) on Guitar duties the line up would now be complete. Our Impressive First Show on July 24th 2009 would Solidify us easily in Tampa landing us shows opening for Various Nationals. Moonspell, Divine Heresy, Marduk, Nachmystium just to name a few. Now in Nov 2009 will Mark the Release of our New EP Entitled "Bring Forth the Fires" which will contain 5 new Originals at about 30 Minutes in Length.
