Sol is a hip hop artist from Seattle, Washington, whose thoughtful lyrics, exuberant performances, and diverse instrumentation have solidified him among the leaders of the northwest music scene. 2012 marked a transcendent year for Sol’s career, starting with the highly anticipated independent album Yours Truly, which quickly rose to #1 on iTunes US Hip-Hop Chart (#4 worldwide) and debuted on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. Following a west coast tour, as well as performances before a ruckus crowd at Live Nation’s Sasquatch Music Festival and a sold out farewell show at Seattle’s Showbox at the Market, Sol left the United States on a ten month globe-trotting hiatus as part of the Bonderman Honors Travel Fellowship he was awarded at the University of Washington.
Ten months and ten countries later, Sol returned to the United States in 2013, evolved and inspired, heading straight to the studio to produce his EP, Eyes Open. Debuting in the top 10 of the iTunes Worldwide Hip Hop Chart, Eyes Open is a global effort, with songs written on four continents. Following the successful release of the EP, Sol headlined a west coast tour that included multiple sold out shows, capped off by a sold out return to Showbox at the Market. The Eyes Open EP has received critical acclaim from Complex, XXL, DJ Booth, and GoodMusicAllDay among others. Sol is now working on his next album which is slated for a 2015 release.

Sam has been making videos since elementary school, and as a seventh-grader began a group called Shankbone. Sam began directing and producing music videos with Shankbone, and went on to create videos for various other Seattle-based artists.
Raised in both Seattle and New York City, Sam graduated in the class of 2009 from Garfield High School in Seattle. He then went on to attend SUNY New Paltz for a year, and is now studying at City College in New York. Sam has spent much of 2013 touring while also producing videos and crafting his next solo project.
BFA (Brothers From Another)
Brothers from Another are the face of the next generation of Seattle Hip-Hop. Comprised of lyricist Tiglo and Cole, they have made their way through Seattle the rap scene since beginning in the basement studio of their high school. Since then, they have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in hip-hop including Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Wale. While both attending four year University’s with majors in Business Administration, they have found time to release 6 EP’s and perform in some of the nation’s most notable venues including the Bowery Ballroom in NY, the Troubadour in LA and the Fillmore in SF. Collaborating with some of the heavy weights of Seattle Hip-hop, including the Blue Scholars, Sol, Vitamin D, J Pinder and Sam Lachow, they have always held their own with a cool Sunday afternoon demeanor. They exude the easy going flavor of the mid 90’s while maintaining a new school attitude in their lyrics. The future is bright for the young duo that seems to possess knowledge and experience beyond their years. One listen to any of their songs and its clear they stay true to their fundamental beliefs that life should be lived to the fullest extent, and their purpose is nothing more than to contribute to good living.
ROOKE5, pronounced Rooks, is an independent hip hop artist born and raised in Colorado. Heavily influenced by a variety of genres, ROOKE5 draws inspiration from the likes of anyone from Sam Cooke and Curtis Mayfield to more recent artists such as Murs and Grieves. Not only does it bring variety to his music but also a creative balance between blues and modern hip hop.
Born in the town of Loveland, Colorado, Luke Whitrock (aka ROOKE5) has always been business and music oriented. Working from the youngest age he possibly could, Luke developed a strong work ethic in every aspect of his life. At the age of 14, he was uprooted from his hometown and relocated to El Paso, Texas where he attended high school and college. It was in El Paso that Luke found his passion for music and took the first steps in pursuing music as a potential career. He began writing over popular instrumentals ranging from Rick Ross to Kanye West, and recording in the home studio of a co-worker. Needless to say Texas was a large influence on his musical perspective. In the spring of 2010, he traveled back to Colorado. The trip marked a new beginning. ROOKE5 has played everywhere from local spots like Cervantes in Denver, The Woodcellar in Evergreen and The Aggie Theater in Fort Collins to playing a Lollapalooza after party in Chicago in 2012.
ROOKE5 has had the privilege of sharing the stage with nationally touring acts such as Zion I, The Grouch & Eligh, Madchild, Amp Live, PROF, Grieves, Blueprint, Gift of Gab, Sol, Pigeon John, Sam Lachow, Hasan Salam, The MC Type, Brothers From Another, Sam I Am as well as many other local acts. Rooted in the pursuit of an energetic environment, his music seeks to ignite the crowd while sharing in their relationships in life, past and present. Together we rise!
