Snow White's Poison Bite

If you are a fan of metal or any of its various subgenres, you are well aware that some of our heaviest bands actually hail from the cold, unforgiving eastern parts of Europe. It has become overwhelmingly clear that Finnish exports deliver hard hitting riffs and gut wrenching screams time and time again. That said, it should come as no surprise that Joensuu, Finland has brought us our newest dream team in the form of the four-piece alternative horror-punk band, SNOW WHITE’S POISON BITE. Formed in 2007 as a simple “screamo” band, by singer/songwriter Allan Cotterill a.k.a Jeremy Thirteenth SNOW WHITE’S POISON BITE has evolved into something much more than that. The band released two EP’s under a small Finnish label, Poko Records. Breaking ground as one of Finland’s very first “screaming, hardcore” bands and quickly gathered a large following, winning fans over with their commitment to delivering intensity on every level. After signing a recording contract with Sound of Finland’s Hyeena Trax in 2010, they released their long awaited debut album, The Story of Kristy Killings, which was sold worldwide. The album served as a reintroduction to their fans, revealing a far more conceptual appeal and attitude. with more of a horror-rock style . Reflected in not only their appearance but their riffs as well, SNOW WHITE’S POISON BITE have become Finnish rock icons, with all eyes on them. As most bands do, SNOW WHITE’S POISON BITE underwent a drastic lineup change in early May 2011. Leaving band-founder, vocalist Allan Cotterill, as the only original member. Determined to keep his fans happy and the band alive, Allan went to work, searching for new members to create the new and improved SNOW WHITE’S POISON BITE. Today, the bands high-energy line up consists of vocalist Allan “Jeremy Thirteenth” Cotterill, guitarist Tuomo “Tupi” Raisanen, bassist Hannu “Bobo” Saarimaa and drummer Niko "Hoker Dine" Hyttinen. The new, tailor-made team has currently recorded their second studio album creating their highly anticipated Victory Records debut full-length album, titled "Featuring: Dr.Gruesome And The Gruesome Gory Horror Show".

Always captivating, SNOW WHITE’S POISON BITE promises to deliver an intense storm of emotion and complexity to the music scene the likes of which America has never seen before. Through heavily black rimmed eyes, SWPB has their sights set on the hardcore masses, determined to recruit each and every one of us into the loyal fan cult dubbed the “Horror Crew”. In a recent interview, Cotterill comments, “We’re out for blood and we want to be one of the biggest bands in the world. Everything happens for a reason and this band is 110% now, the chemistry is amazing between all of us and it is an honor to have this level of musicianship in SWPB. The shit that we have coming is going to blow you away!” With their larger-than-life image, commanding riffs, and terrifying screams, SNOW WHITE’S POISON BITE is gearing up for a very heavy 2013, ready to absolutely murder the airwaves.

Farewell My Love

The conceptual artistry and theatricality of My Chemical Romance, the reckless danger and skillful musicianship of Avenged Sevenfold, the dark mystique and anthem-inducing sing-alongs of AFI and the brash experimentalism and attitude of 30 Seconds to Mars are all components that have a home in the Farewell, My Love manuscript. With forceful determination and wonderfully soaring grandiosity, Farewell, My Love put a unique spin on theatrical hard rock with utmost dedication.

Farewell, My Love first connected with their rabid audience, who they devotedly refer to as their "Lovers," with 2011's A Dance You Won't Forget EP. The short but incredible record and its subsequent lush, story-driven video for the anthem-in-the-making "Portraits" garnered the attention of like-minded supporters in short order.

Standby Records was proud to ink a deal with the band and put them into Cleveland, Ohio's Studio D Productions with producer Don Debiase, who has worked with Modern Day Escape, Beneath the Sky and For All Those Sleeping. The resulting debut full-length is the type of album that is sure to skyrocket the young quintet.

Ryan Howell's intense and diverse vocals sit atop the heavy, precise and melodic guitar work of Röbby Creasey and Logan Thayer, all ably backed by the percussive but tasteful rhythm section of bassist Charlee Conley and drummer Chad Kowal. Additional instrumentation, including string arrangements and bells, bolster the band's guitar-driven rock, adding to the artistic atmosphere on display throughout.

"Fans can expect a very theatrical, diverse and deep record," promises Creasey. "Each of us put our hearts into this and we can not wait to see everyone's reactions," adds Kowal.

The song "Mirror, Mirror" chronicles the haywire circumstances surrounding someone who is pulled in multiple directions and questioning their very identity. "My Perfect Thing" is a song for the lovers, about that feeling when someone means the world to you. "Skip the Memories" is about loss and the fact that we can't turn back the clock.

"Just Another Soul" deals with personal struggle, self-destructive tendencies and life's hardships. "We hope that listeners can relate to the stories we are telling and can feel a sense of belonging when they hear the songs," Howell offers. "Every person has their own story to be told," Conley observes. "We've been given this gift and opportunity to portray that through our music. We created Farewell, My Love to give each and every person in the world a sense of uplifting relief and release. We want our band to be something to hold onto, a place to run to, to find refuge and turn to when it seems like there is no escape from your circumstances," adds Thayer.

A band with many dimensions from their music, to their lyrics, their stage show, their videos, their image and their concepts, Farewell, My Love present true emotion, authentic passion and pour their hearts and souls into everything they do. Farewell, My Love aspires to nothing less than to be a hill of hope in the flood of life.

Kissing Candice

Kissing Candice started as a mere vision. Ex-Dr. Acula keyboardist and sample mastermind, Joey Simpson, was looking to start a project that would combine metal, hardcore, industrial and electronic music in a unique and cinematic fashion. Taking on the role of frontman, Joey hit the studio with producer Jeremy Comitas to record the debut EP, Murder. While giving listeners a taste of what to expect from the band, Joey soon realized that it was time to put together a full lineup.

After recruiting Tommy Sciro (guitar), Marco Caruso (drums) and Mike Grippo (bass),Walter Dicristina(Guitar) the band began to fine-tune their songs for live performances. Soon, this Long Island based five-piece had a sizeable buzz growing online, with followers and fans accumulating on various social networks. Quickly attracting listeners on a daily basis, Kissing Candice is already proving that their brand is being eagerly welcomed to the scene.

With the new members of the band contributing to the writing process, future material will undoubtedly be the most vicious and addicting output from the band thus far. Keep a close eye on Kissing Candice, as their blood, guts and gore-filled tunes infect the masses during the remainder of 2012 and beyond.
