Massive Attack's 'Blue Lines' hybrid of soul, reggae, jazz & slow burnin' grooves is a club and post-rave come-down classic album. It arose out of the Bristol underground dance scene spearheaded by The Wild Bunch and in turn, was the predecessor to albums such as DJ Shadow's 'Endtroducing' and Portishead's 'Dummy' (more at classicalbumsundays.com). Join us to first for a buffet brunch and complimentary cocktail catered by the soon to open Stilton House as we listen to music that either inspired or was relevant to this LP such as Billy Cobham, Tom Scott and William DeVaughn followed by the story behind the making of the album. Then the lights go down, the volume goes up and we play the album from beginning to end on vinyl on our audiophile hi-fi. Listening guidelines apply.
