Down With May
We’re Talk Tonight, a rock band based in San Francisco. Our sound has been described as fun, intelligent pop tangled with melodic soul.
As we said, our sound has been described as fun, intelligent pop tangled with melodic soul. What’s that you ask? We define it as rockin’ music that gets you through the fog.
Who are we? We’re four guys, two girls bonded together by our separate and collective loves of McDonald’s and martinis, gentlemen’s clubs, Jameson, Blow Pops and, of course, making music.
Over the last year, we’ve been lucky enough to play to packed audiences across California, including some of the Bay Area’s best-loved and iconic venues such as Café du Nord, Brick & Mortar, and Hotel Utah. In January 2013, the band’s first EP, "Single Day," was recognized as one of the best EPs of 2012 by David Bash, founder of International Pop Overthrow. Recently, we were spotted at a local gig and subsequently sponsored to record a new original single, “Unresolved,” produced by acclaimed producer, Starita (Rihanna, Sting).
Fresh off the release of their sophomore album, "Simple Good," fREEX couldn't have any more buzz than if you wacked 10 hornets' nests with a hockey stick! The album was just nominated for "Rock Album of the Year" by the Los Angeles Music Awards, their video for "Mental Rental" was nominated for "Video of the Year," and Ivan "Vänü" Ganchev, fREEX' hard-hitting drummer, formerly of "American Idol" fame, garnered a nomination for "Rock Drummer of the Year." fREEX also received an invite to perform at the prestigious "Heart of Texas Rockfest" during SXSW.
MrMiMe was formed in the sanctity of the San Francisco Bay Area. We sweat to lay down a head banging alternative metal/pop punk sound.
Remember, A MIME IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE.
Hailing from San Francisco and shaping sounds from the heart, The Institution is a three piece band who sound like 5 people. Jay Scott (singer/guitarist) is from Hawaii and moved to the bay area in the late 90's. Pete Milan (drummer) is originally from Michigan. G (bassist) was born in the Philippines and moved to California when he was 6 years old. The band was formed in 2004 when Jay and Pete first met in college and started playing with each other. They soon formed The Institution and recruited another student to play bass for them. The first bass player eventually left the band. Jay and Pete recruited G in 2011 and are currently playing shows in the San Francisco bay and surrounding areas. Keep up with them at www.theinstitution.us.
