We come from places stretching from LA to Poland but what we have most in common is our love for raw sound and honest songwriting. Our idea is to share this love with as many people as we can...
Thick as Thieves
Thick as Thieves is on the cutting edge of the ever changing musical spectrum, bringing each members unique taste and stylings to the stage. From Nas and Tupac to Mumford and Sons and AC/DC, Thick as Thieves exists harmoniously within musical contradictions. Each song is a unique opportunity for an audience member to explore various musical genres seamlessly, each song flowing between the other in a fresh and gratifying way. Up-tempo and honest, the lyrics and melodies allow the band to share intimate moments with the audience, engaging each listener with passionate performances and energetic sets.
Formed in 2009, Thick as Thieves already performs regularly around the Los Angeles music scene including the world famous Sunset Strip venues like “The Whiskey,” and “The Roxy” to local hangouts like Molly Malone’s and The Mint. Successful tours of the NW, Midwest, and NE have led Thick as Thieves into the college market place, showcasing their talent across the country.
Opening for artists such as P.O.D, Sean Kingston, New Boyz, and Young the Giant, Thick as Thieves is blistering their path to superstardom themselves. Their newest EP “These Days” launched on January, 8th to rave reviews! This Spring TAT will be opening for Matt and Kim and Imagine Dragons among others as they criss cross the nation on another epic college tour.
all other teen rock bands are their affinity for musicianship - having studied their instruments since before becoming teenagers - and indifference about that commercial-friendly sound in favor of challenging the industry to try something new.
So far, this mindset has worked. The Nukes are the subject of a documentary that started filming in the summer of 2009. This documentary, which covers their auditions, recording sessions, and live performance, is currently being edited and due for completion in February 2010.
The Nukes played their first show earlier this January at the Troubadour to 200 paying guests. Not only were they integral to the night selling out, but they were asked back MARCH 6TH.
This is all very impressive considering that the current line-up has only been practicing together for 3 months. The guitar player and bass player have been with the project since its inception in the summer 2009.
