"Emily Danger pushes the definition of indie rock while providing a one-of-a-kind listening experience. The world has yet to be exposed to music so richly unique and layered with talent." ("lemonade magazine")
Emily Danger is a dark cabaret rock band from New York City. The band consists of Emily Nicholas (vocals, piano), Ryan Nearhoff (vocals, guitar), Cameron Orr (violin, melodica, vocals), Colin Lime (drums), and Coyote Anderson (bass).
Their music consists of lyrics written by Emily and music and arrangements created by the band. Emily Danger combines haunting melodies and vulnerable lyrics with orchestral, heavy, and often dissonant arrangements. they released their first ep, "Paintings" in april of 2012 to widespread acclaim.
"the most enchanting moments on "paintings" are when nicholas' voice truly serves as an instrument in its own right and, not only does the listener get mesmerized in her singing, they don't want it to end." ("Thirty Roses")
in august, the band toured across the united states and canada to sold out crowds in their glorious, big, white van, the dangermobile. they continue to play throughout the east coast and are based in brooklyn, new york.
"...beautiful, perfectly executed songs that defy categorization." ("Music Review unsigned magazine")
The band is named after a nickname given to Emily by Colin
because "Danger" is, in fact, her middle name.
Band of Young Saints
B.O.Y.S. are a power pop/rock band with a powerful, emotive and melodic sound, drawn from their many musical and artistic influences. They swear no allegiance to any one musical sound, but to a purity of song and expression.
Band of Young Saints are a strong songwriting unit, filtered through the wild energy of rock n' roll.
Band of Young Saints' new album, Holy Hoaxes, is out now!
The Absent Center
Après-garde post-indie rock
Shana Falana is an experimental pysch-pop band emerging from Brooklyn's vast shoegaze scene. Combining live-looping of reverb-drenched vocals and guitar with drums, pre-recorded "backing tracks", and stunning visual projections, Shana's live experience has often been described as transcendental. Praised as "the most entrancing modern psychedelic pop now being made" by Chronogram magazine (NY), Shana is now touring the US and Europe in support of her debut EP, "In The Light". http://shanafalana.bandcamp.com/
