The Libertine Belles, Bridgetown Sextet

The Libertine Belles

The Libertine Belles are a femme-fatale jazz trio based in Portland Oregon, who are fresh on the scene and ready to lure you in! Set lists include old-timey swing music, originals, and unexpected twists on newer favorites. Their specialty is tight vocal harmonies and slammin' uke (Dee Settlemier of the hot-jazz band the Midnight Serenaders), trashcan bass (Emily Hetrick of the Ukeladies PDX), and washboard stylings (Teresa Boyd of Saloon Ensemble and Ukeladies PDX)....along with killer-diller horn accompaniment by Jason Wells (Trashcan Joe, Saloon Ensemble). With saucy originals, rare and raunchy tunes, and sweet ol' standards, there is always something for everyone!

Bridgetown Sextet

The BRIDGETOWN SEXTET performs authentic, energetic roots jazz from the 1920s and 30s with a sound evoking the blues of Creole New Orleans, the stomp of prohibition-era Chicago, and the stride piano of the Harlem Renaissance. The group captures the natural feel of these early jazz innovations - the drive, energy, and spontaneity that characterized them - with a fresh and inventive sound all its own. This is high-energy, low-down, genuine music that makes hot jazz and swing sound new!
