Dr. Awkward (Josh Watson) has been a Southern California recording artist since 2009. Doc was born and raised in San Diego, and because of this, much of his music is influenced by mainstream and underground West Coast Hip Hop.
In early 2009, Dr. Awkward released his first solo project “Next Gen,” in which Doc proclaims that he is the future of Hip Hop. The EP was hailed as an instant classic, with such hits as “Geekquilibrium” and “Impostor.” With this release, Doc signed to the independent label Scrub Club Records.
He then performed at Nerdapalooza with several artists from Scrub Club. In Summer 2009, Doc finished a follow-up EP titled “Subterranean.” It was named that because of a departure from Awkward’s heavy synth sound and it adopted a more underground feel. This EP was completely discarded because Doc did not feel it evolved in the skills demonstrated on the Next Gen EP.
Since his live act at Nerdapalooza, Doc has performed at after parties for large events such as Florida’s Nerd Invasion, San Diego’s ComicCon,Texas’ Comicpalooza, and Indianaplois' GenCon. He has shared bills with MC Frontalot, MC Lars, MC Chris, Zealous1, YTCracker, and MegaRan.
In April 2010, one year after Next Gen, Dr. Awkward finished and released his first full length album called “Unlimited.” The album was titled as such to convey Doc’s unlimited potential and ability. This album features an amazing fusion of Nerdy Rhymes, Next Gen Hip Hop, and R&B.
After his huge first LP, Doc is back in the lab working on new material, and playing shows all over the globe!
When every gathering becomes a circus right off the bat, you know it is going to be fun! Thats what we want Burn Circus to be; a fun place to come hang out and play with fire in a setting that focuses on a theme that we can all appreciate.
Burn Circus is more than just the name of a new fire spinning troupe, it is a description of what we do, of how we want to grow. The circus brings such a range of images to life in our minds, both exhilarating and scary. Dancing elephants aside, the circus is basically a collection of unique individuals who come together and showcase all of the interesting ways that they have found to be spectacular. We feel like it can only get better as we open up to invite a community to take form. Our circus can be as simple or as prestigious as we wish to make it. No matter when we come together, it will be with a sense of performance, mystique, co-creative participation and above all else, FUN!
You do not have to play with fire to be a part of Burn Circus; you can juggle, walk a slackline, bang on a drum, play hand cymbals, spin LED poi, kick a hacky sack.
While we will seek a level of professionalism and commitment for those who wish to perform with Burn Circus at paid gigs and events; The community aspect that sustains Burn Circus is accessible to everyone who wants to participate in something magical and fun.
The Hulagans are a hoop group that formed in the spring of 2009, and were originally a group of 6. They expanded in 2011 and now have over 20 members from the mid-Missouri area. The Hulagans perform at various music festivals, shows and events, as well as charity events.

hannah, delia and amanda grew up in st. louis in a house that had the stereo on always, tuned to community radio and bob dylan records. hannah has played classical guitar for over 10 years, and delia has been writing poetry since she got her hands on a diary. They wrote their first dubb nubb song at the age of 15 and have since put out two EPs, a 7" record and a full length album. today the three raineys live in columbia and when they aren't studying or teaching hebrew school, they play shows in bedrooms, backyards, bars, ice cream shops, trailsides, and festival stages all over missouri and beyond.
Space-infused spirit lozenges glazed with a hearty gastric bile paste, served on a bed of freshly pickled soul bits.
This duo from the heart of America combines pop, trip-hop and r&b influences into a genre-defying sound, realized through intricate patchwork sampling methods and charismatic live performances. Catchy vocal melodies cut through atmospheric instrumental layers to create a style at the front of the contemporary music movement.
