Clemons Road

Florida is a place where the water meets the woods. A place that has as many farms as it does beaches. A place where children are raised on Hank Williams Jr. and Bob Marley. It is in this diverse state that Clemons Road calls their home. Blending Country music with an island feel or vice versa the band always starts a party as soon as the first note rings! Pulling it’s influences from Sublime to Alan Jackson, Dave Matthews to Jimmy Buffet, or Lynyrd Skynyrd to Zac Brown Band, Clemons Road can keep all audiences head bobbing and feet moving.

When Grammy award winning music producer Cliff Brown (lead vocals/guitar) started making phone calls to start the band he didn’t pull any punches. “I had been writing songs and playing music for other bands and artists and this time I just wanted to do what I want to do. Play the music that me and my friends loved playing and not limit ourselves to any barriers”, Cliff explains. The first person he called was lifelong best friend and bandmate Eric Long (bass/vocals). Eric and Cliff have traveled the country playing together in various bands such as “Soulness” and “The Cliff Brown Band”. Next came Matt Richardson (lead guitar/vocals), a local guitar extraordinaire who’s reputation for being a jack of many trades proceeds him. Cliff also landed Jason Baker (fiddle/piano/vocals). Jason has played professionally with many western swing and bluegrass acts nationally. Kenny K (pedal steel guitar), has been working on major label songs for Cliff over the past 5 years. Josh High (electric guitar) has been playing with members of the group for a while and gives the band their full sound. Solidifying their huge sound isChris Williams (drums). Chris grew up with the boys, right on the corner of Clemons Road, and has played in many bands throughout Florida. The latest addition to Clemons Road brings Gavin Baulac to the group. Gavin has been playing banjo in Florida and around the southeast with various bands and groups for over 10 years.

The musical result is much like the place where they live. Putting all of their influences into a blender to make a concoction that everyone can drink! Cliff puts it this way, “We want to be a band that crosses cultures and breaks age barriers. We want to make people feel good and give them songs to use for the soundtrack of their lives!”

Cypress, TX native and rising country singer songwriter, Kayla Conn watched as her debut EP album roared into the Top 40 on iTunes Country albums chart just weeks before her sophomore year in high school came to a close. The 15 year-old newcomer spent the past year balancing school and writing and recording in Nashville while performing across the country with major label artists Gloriana, Love and Theft, Greg Bates, and American Idol country sensation, Scotty McCreery.

While most of the world is just starting to discover this young artist, those closest to Kayla witnessed her natural talent for writing and performing beginning at age 3 and teaching herself how to play her dad’s guitar by age 10. Thousands more have heartily cheered Kayla on as she performed at numerous State and National FFA Conventions, regional festivals, clubs, and benefits while perfecting her craft.

Kayla recently had the honor of performing in support of a cause that is very close to her heart at the Night of Laughter and Music, benefiting the National Alzheimer’s Association. Her opening set in front of Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy showcased a song she co-wrote with Grammy award winner Brian White called “Memory for Two” which was written to honor her late grandfather whose life was severely impacted by Alzheimer’s

Grounded by her faith, family, and fearless nature, Kayla relishes the challenge of reaching larger and larger audiences with her music and message.
