Iman Omari "(Vibe)rations" Album Release Show

With the “new sound” of West Coast music upon us, a young prodigy from the left coast is prepared to make his mark on the music industry. With such a diverse display of talents, 23-year old Los Angeles-based composer, producer, writer and singer Iman Omari is using a sound that “can’t be defined” to takeover the game.

Taking over the game started in 2011 for Omari with his debut album “Energy”. Through his infectious use of melodic vocals combined with jazz-fusion, hip-hop, soul and R&B he hopes to continue to change the way people listen to music, making it a more passionate and soulful experience with his second album entitled (Vibe)rations due for a June 2013 release.

The self-taught musician and former graduate of the Alexander Hamilton High School of Music Academy has already delivered the bubbly sound of the New West to the world. As a self-proclaimed hip-hop lover, he has produced tracks for numerous prominent artist including Pac Div, Cam Meekins, Mac Miller, Over Doz, Sabi and Ty $. His unique sound allowed him to land co-production credits on Kendrick Lamar’s 2011 critically acclaimed “Section 80” mixtape.

While currently working on various collaborations Omari hopes that his sophmore album puts him in a section apart from the rest. In a music world full of regurgitated acts the young prodigy finds it hard to define himself as an artist but is aware that what he is creating both vocally and musically is truly rare.

Although his musical inspirations ranging from Stevie Wonder and Donnie Hathaway to Herbie Hancock and Jay Dilla may be of the past; it is clear that his refreshing sound is groundbreaking yet not limited. Just sounds simply syncopated for true music lovers to feel the “(Vibe)rations.”

The opening to new horizons towards melodic and rhythmic structures that are not limited by physical properties of natural instruments traveling faster than the speed of light, Knxwledge east koast recycler (U.S.) has circulated his sound worldwide.
From Philadelphia this young beatmaker has been bubbling beneath the surface in the virtual world and has quickly made it onto the playlists of global radiomixes. Recently featured on Detroit MC Invincible's "Shapeshifters" (2008) and XLR8R magazine, he is a proven standout amongst the new wave beat generation. His captivating sound is a blend of true musicianship of great legends such as Miles Davis and hip-hop breakbeats all wrapped into one.
Making his name via Myspace, global mixes spinning around the world and with a Mary Anne Hobbs mix & plays from Benji B already under his belt he stepped up to the plate in 2010 with his first solo release on All City – Klouds. 15 tracks of varying rhythmic structures, lengths and speeds which go way further than mere beats and snippets. Sloppy, on beat and off its all thrown in the beat blender. He will also be appearing on our 12 inch collaboration series.

iLL Camille

Wordsmith, a term thrown around loosely these days but seldom associated with a female MC. With the odds stacked against her, and the consistent jargon of the music business being a male dominate industry, the self proclaimed "Jane-of-all-trades" ILL CAMILLE is focused and determined to make her mark amongst the who's who of the music scene, male and female alike.

Born in Compton, California but raised in both Los Angeles and Inland Empire, this emcee takes pride in her multi-city upbringing. With a deep rooted family background of music, and a natural knack for competition, Camille is prepared to combine all the elements of her experience to provide listeners with a well rounded product minus the "sex sells approach".

Getting her start in music by doing marketing and internship work in her early years, it would be a meeting with one of LA's best known emcees Mykestro, who encouraged Camille to tap into her hidden talent as an artist.

As a "rookie" with perhaps, about 1 and a half under her belt, her resume is quite impressive to say the least. To segue her first 2011 release "THE PRE-WRITE" she enlisted the help of legendary producer Dj Battlecat to bring boom-bap-soaked vision to life on "ALL I KNOW". Having an uber-solid independent hustle, she later received invites to open for the likes of Pete Rock, Jean Grae, Slum Village x Dwele, and Jay Rock amongst others. Detroit's Frank Nitt x Dj Houseshoes gave her the opportunity to showoff her lyrical prowess on their "S.T.F.U The Mixtape" mixtape.

After that, she hit the stage w/ DJ Trackstar at Atlanta's A3C Hip Hop Festival as apart of The Smoking Section/ Fadia Kader's "Perfect Attendance" roster...and was praised for having bar-baiting raps and a "beasty" stage presence. Kendrick Lamar mentioned her as being one of his "favorites" during a May 2011 interview, proclaiming she was "the hardest" across the board. Following an impromptu visit from Terrace Martin during one of her Project Blowed performances,Terrace shared her "MC's Peep Show" freestyle with his producerial partner, 9th Wonder which would eventually lead to her collaborating with the both of them consistently from that point forward.

A much more seasoned, & lyrically sharp iLL CAMILLE credits her talents to being allowed to her display her versatility as both an emcee and writer. Her contributions to Terrace Martin's Locke High 2 & Thoughts from Detention projects jump-started her involvement in a host of in-the-works projects with other major artists,on the mic and on the writing side. Starting her 2012 off in proper-fashion she headed to Austin, Texas to perform alongside of her "Mc Mentor", Kurupt in addition to Terrace & 9th for a series of SXSW performances.

Prepping for her sophmore release, iLLUSTRATED and The Write from Left [ep], Camille is setting out to bring the "perfect balance of sound" by creating content not only for the regular everyday person, but also the connoisseurs of the not so simplified.

Drawing inspiration from timeless artists like Roy Ayers and Stevie Wonder she also cites Rah Digga, Kurupt, Pete Rock, Dj Khalil, Outkast and Marsha Ambrosius as some of her muses.

Using family, God and a good beat as her driving force and the support of fellow up and comers, and veterans worldwide, the road to success seems to be where ILL CAMILLE is headed.
