Tony Lindsay Band
After 20 years as the lead vocalist for Santana, Tony Lindsay has garnered 11 Grammy awards, traveled on several world tours and recorded on seven CDs: Milagro (1992), Supernatural (1999), Shaman (2002), Ceremony (2003) and Food for Thought (2004), Ultimate Santana (2007) and Multi-Dimensional Warrior (2008). Their current tour involves Santana's First Rock Residency: an exclusive two-year deal for 36 shows with AEG at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's concert hall "The Joint," which began May 27, 2009. When not on tour with Santana, Lindsay performs at various local venues and festivals and in between tours he is currently recording his fourth Solo CD.
What began as a simple karaoke night out with friends at 7 Bamboo Lounge in San Jose Downtown soon led to the coming of Bay Area’s liveliest and most eclectic hip-hop/soul/r&b group, Soulful Obsession. Lily Tran, Bennett Roth-Newell, Veno Bender, and Kosuke Okamura officially formed the band “Soulful Obsession” in the summer of August 2011 at San Jose State University. These four multi-talented individuals unleash their artistic creative abilities by collectively writing and producing all of their original songs.
On-the-rise in the thriving Silicon Valley, Soulful Obsession skillfully blends together a diverse range of sounds influenced by both classic artists like: Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Etta James, and Ella Fitzgerald with modern-day artists like: Amy Winehouse, John Legend, Beyonce, Jamie Cullum, Lauryn Hill, Robin Thicke and The Roots.
with Special Guest Tom Politzer
Tom Politzer is a world renowned saxophone player, long time member of the legendary soul orchestra Tower Of Power, and a seasoned recording artist. Tom E. Politzer is TOP's lead tenor sax player. Tommy fills that role totally, not only as an outstanding soloist, but also as a part of the five piece Tower of Power horn section.
Born in Detroit and raised in Palo Alto, California, Tom contributes to the band's complex sound with his first tenor sax, alto sax, flute, and clarinet. Tom’s musical background and his switch from playing the clarinet to the baritone sax chair (inspired, in part, by Tower of Power’s “Squib Cakes”), set the stage for him to become the professional musician he is today.
