LOS ANGELES, CA, MAY 7, 2013 – Mac Miller today announced tour dates for his upcoming 38-city North American Summer run of The Space Migration Tour in support of his highly anticipated sophomore album, WATCHING MOVIES WITH THE SOUND OFF, which will be released June 18th on Rostrum Records. Vince Staples, The Internet and Chance The Rapper will open on all dates, while Meek Mill, EARL Sweatshirt and Action Bronson will support on various legs of the tour. Mac Miller will also be bringing artists from his own, newly minted record label, REMember Music, on the road including Njomza, Dylan Reynolds, The Come-UP, Hardo, Choo Jackson and Primavera Vills. The tour kicks off June 25th at Emo’s in Austin, TX. Tickets go on sale beginning May 10th and are available at: http://macmillerofficial.com/tour.
Miller speaks out on the tour, saying, “I’m excited that we figured out a safe way to bring a large group of people to a different planet. After hundreds of years of research, our team has developed a safe and reliable form of transportation that will bring tourists to a world of discovery and opportunity.”
The tour announcement comes on the heels of Mac Miller’s recent Twitter announcement that his highly anticipated, second album WATCHING MOVIES WITH THE SOUND OFF will be released June 18th on Rostrum Records. The album follows Mac Miller’s record breaking, debut album BLUE SLIDE PARK, which bowed at #1 on the BILLBOARD TOP 200 ALBUMS chart in 2011, making it the first independently released debut to do so since 1995. The album firmly placed Mac Miller at the forefront of the Hip Hop community, and now, at only 21, Miller promises fans a look at his musical evolution on his second LP.
Regarding the album, he states, “WATCHING MOVIES WITH THE SOUND OFF is a very long title that everybody gets wrong, which is awesome. It was created inside of a sanctuary that exists in a different dimension. The only way you can get there is by running into a wall at full speed after eating an iced tea.”

BLUE SLIDE PARK (Rostrum Records), Mac Miller’s debut album, was released in November of 2011 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Miller has continued to work on multiple musical side projects, including the recently released EP YOU under his alter-ego Larry Lovestein and the Velvet Revival. The EP topped iTunes’ Jazz Charts at #1 and further highlighted Miller’s talents as a songwriter and composer. On the upcoming album, he also wrote and produced several of the tracks.
Mac Miller recently wrapped season one of his hit MTV2 reality show MAC MILLER AND THE MOST DOPE FAMILY, which, after recording the highest debut for the network, will return for a second season chronicling his album release and tour.
