Jason Ager is a blues-rock artist with hip-hop and R&B influences. Jason's self-taught guitar style is distinguished by stylized palm muting and percussive striking. He has been playing original music since picking up the guitar, and has grown a loyal following in his hometown Philadelphia music scene. With moves to Washington, D.C. and now Baltimore, Jason is a staple in clubs from New York to Virginia. He leads a trio, the C.O.P.O. (Austin O'Connor on bass and Sheri Walsh on percussion), that moves audiences to the dance floor, and also performs upbeat acoustic music that tests the boundaries of the traditional singer-songwriter. Think of Chuck Berry rapping as the front man of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and you'll have the first inklings of his music.
Born in the eclectic music scenes of Washington D.C and Philadelphia P.A. --then polished on the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville while receiving a degree in music, singer songwriter Anthony Bernhauser combines his percussive guitar flavor with fresh songwriting to create a highly energetic and entertaining musical experience appropriate for all ages.
Before moving to Nashville Tennessee in 2010 to record his Debut Album "Meant To Be" with multi-Platinum sound engineer's Jenny Rosato Lutkins (George Massenburg, Montgomery Gentry), and Erik Lutkins (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sugarland, and Byron Gallimore), Anthony was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the Knoxville based band Genuine Nothing. Genuine Nothing is a staple rock band in the Fraternity and Sorority show circuit and has played many clubs and venues in the Knoxville and Nashville area since 2007.
In both 2008 and 2009, Bernhauser gained national recognition for his songs “Take it Back” and “Swivel Stick” which were the Tennessee State Finalist in the BMI MENC John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Fueled by the success of his album "Meant To Be" released not long ago by De Lune Records, Anthony has been a breakout artist over the past two years playing 100+ shows. His coast to coast tours have included stops at World Famous venues in major US cities such as the Whisky A Go Go in L.A., The Bluebird Cafe & EXIT/IN in Nashville, The Parkside Lounge in NYC, The World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, IOTA in D.C. , Eddie's Attic in Atlanta, The Parish's Beale Street Tavern in Austin, and island hopping shows in the Virgin Islands. Anthony also played to the likes of 10,000 people in Columbus Ohio while opening for Warner Bros. Recording Artists' Chuck Wicks and James Otto at the 2011 Pelotonia Concert . 2013 marks the start of Anthony's next album which is currently in pre-production.
I’m a musician, videographer and social media enthusiast living in Washington, DC.
I play ukulele with a song on guitar here and there. I sing along with those instruments with words that are sometimes funny and almost always weird. I love loop pedals and other gizmos that make music sound weird. This site is full of videos, music, and other gems. Comment, subscribe and do something fun and creative today.
