Introducing Swindle, a multi-talented musician and producer, hailing from South London who took a keen interest in music at a young age, learning to play the piano aged 8 and recording his own music by 13. Taking influence from Jazz, Reggae and Soul artists (including Miles Davis, Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder), Swindle focused his energies on making predominantly Grime and Hip Hop beats whilst attending college.
From 2007-2009 Swindle produced for the who’s who of the UK underground, names like Chipmunk, Professor Green, Asher D, Roll Deep and Roses Gabor, while making steps to break out as a producer fronting his own music after long being in the shadow of the massive artists he was working with. Linking up with Elijah & Skilliam as they started the Butterz label proved to be the turning point in 2010, as they pushed him to finally make the leap into the limelight.
The underground smash ‘Airmiles’ (released by Planet Mu) made a big impact on the club scene and pushed him to the forefront as a DJ at the same time. Playing sets that consist mainly of his own music he always leaves an individual stamp on ravers with his brand of jazzy Grime, Dubstep and UK Funky. In between that, expect exclusive sounds from his Butterz label mates such as Terror Danjah & Royal-T as well collaborations with heavy hitters Roska and Silkie. Swindle’s biggest tracks to date ‘Mood Swings’ (the video for which was an internet hit) released on Butterz, ‘Ignition’ Featuring Newham General Footsie and ‘Do The Jazz’ released on Deep Medi has solidified him as one of the great young prospects to shape the future of underground music in the UK.
I lived in the UK from '95-'97 and it changed my life! Put down my guitar, picked up DJing, and went to my first massive raves there. In '97 I moved from the UK to St. Louis, MO where I gave myself the mission to spread the music I had come to love, hardcore rave music. And for those who don't know, at that time it was jungle/DnB, Happy Hardcore, and Gabber!
Fortunately, I became friends with a
few musically like-minded DJs and I believe we helped to give STL's underground hardcore rave scene a strong UK influence. I played mostly DnB in and around STL with many residencies along the way, to name a few, "Dedication" Thursdays at LO (RIP), "Weird Science" on 90.3FM (RIP), Sunday "Ritual" at Upstairs Lounge, and the "Love Hz" show Fridays on bassdrive.com.
I caught the dubstep bug around 2006 thanks to my good buddy Jim K, and we ended up playing many shows together, the "Dub Hz" show on Dubstep.fm, and Jim K's dubstep night at Upstairs Lounge, among countless one-off's in and around STL.
I relocated to Colorado in the summer of 2010 and I'm absolutely loving the bass music scene out here and am looking forward to what the future has in store!
Mikey (the mouseterious) Fisher is a over a decade long approved DJ and bass music producer.. His sets are quite the journey for the participant that navigate sounds, driving, hard, balanced with the deep, and more minimal, techno inspired tunes that currently traverse the genres of Dubstep, 2 Step, and Garage. Performing captivating solo sets with Ableton or Serato comfortably, Mikey is also often seen on stage with the bass music-aerial/movement act, Future Simple Project, newly formed ADSUM combining minds with SF resident bass pusher Benjamin Keyser aka Porkchop, and his very own downtemped side project MOUSETERIOUS. Mikey is a 10 year member of Family Moons Artist Collective (www.familymoons.com) and co-founder of the Dubanimals label (www.dubanimals.com)
