Alex Gorodezky is a virtuoso six-string guitarist and composer. He specializes in Classical,
Jazz and World Music, providing over 30 years of experience in music education, theater,
live performance and studio environments.
A seasoned musician, he has played countless festivals and venues across the country
and around the world.Alex started to play classical guitar at age of eleven and got his first
teaching job at the local music school at the age of 17. At age 18 he got accepted to
Kiev’s Glier Music College and graduated as a jazz performer (guitar), arranger and composer.
In 1988 he debuted at the International Jazz Festival in Ukraine and then started touring
from 1988 to 1991 performing jazz, and World music. At this time he started thinking about
how to infuse world music with jazz vocabulary.
In 1991 Alex moved to Israel, where he became a part of the Gesher Theater Company
where he explored the theatrical application of his original works. He has been part of more
than 300 performances and toured many European cities including Vienna, Basel and Berlin.
Four years later Alex moved to U.S. and currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his family.
Alex is very active in a local music scene. He creates contemporary arrangements of the
Argentinean Tangos, combining elements of modern jazz, Brazilian music and Flamenco.
He also teaches and performs traditional jazz, Gipsy music and international folklore.
Alex co-found the ELM Collective, a group of veteran musicians from five continents,
who wrote and performed their own original music, blending eclectic world and jazz styles.

This experience enriched Alex’s portfolio with influence of many musical genres and cultures:
Tango, Flamenco,Jazz, R&B, Jewish sacret and Classical music.
Today, Alex serves as the co-director of Via Romen, a world-class ensemble that has impressed
audiences both here in the US and abroad. In 2012 band toured Israel with famous
Jewish-American singer Svetlana Portnyansky (More info at
www.viaromen.com) His latest project, Via Romen Guitar Duo, features Alex alongside the
revered Russian seven-string guitarist Vadim Kolpakov, who traveled and performed with
Madonna on her past world tour. Recently, Alex was chosen to represent Kremona Guitars
at the exclusive National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show which is regarded
as the premier trade-show of the industry.
Passionate about sharing his love of music, Alex also teaches Classical, Jazz and Spanish guitar
and music theory at his private home-studio in the heart of downtown Raleigh, NC.
