First Person Arts StorySlam

First Person Arts StorySlam

What’s a StorySlam? A StorySlam is more than a storytelling competition. It’s an invitation to share five minutes of your life in a room full of people who appreciate a well-told tale. Audience storytellers take to the stage with real life stories on the theme of the night. Winners get $100 prize and the chance to compete in the season finale Grand Slam. Got five minutes? Come and lend an ear, or share an experience.

This season of First Person Arts StorySlams is presented by Harmelin Media.

About First Person Arts

Now in its 15th year, First Person Arts (FPA) is Philadelphia’s premiere storytelling organization and the producers of StorySlams, the Annual First Person Arts Festival (Nov. 2016), First Person Arts Podcast, and Applied Storytelling community engagement programs. From such artistic luminaries as novelist Toni Morrison, activist Angela Davis, and celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, to everyday people at twice-monthly StorySlams, FPA presents a diverse array of storytellers in order to foster an appreciation for our unique and shared experiences, and connect us with each other and the world.

$10 for the general public, $8 for FPA members
