Acid Pauli (Crosstown Rebels/Clown & Sunset) - Berlin) 3+ hour set

Born in the 1970s/seventies in Bavaria (Germany), Martin Gretschmann started to play bass guitar in a punk/indie band in the late eighties. At the same time he became interested in the evolution of electronic music and its instruments.

His first tracks were released in 1995 under the pseudonym "Console" and with the help of an Atari computer, a four-track tape machine, a sampler and a little synthesizer Martin produced his first album "Pan or ama" which was released in 1996.

Around the same time he joined "The Notwist" to bring the electronic sounds into the band. He has been a constant member of the band ever since.

After releasing several records, remixes, even radio plays (together with Andreas Ammer) and touring excessively, Martin finally decided to start another solo project:
Acid Pauli, a club oriented live Set that evolved into an advanced DJ set over the years and incorporated not only techno and house, but all different kinds of music whilst always remaining on the dance floor.

In 2004 the transcontinental group "13&God" was formed by the members of "The Notwist" and the experimental hip hop crew "Themselves" (Oakland/ California) joined the list of bands Mr. Gretschmann is part of.

And as another new project he joined a little collective who opened a music club in Munich called "Rote Sonne" which has been the playground for international renowned DJs, live acts and bands for about ten years now.

In 2011 Gretschmann moved to Berlin and of course got well connected there into the scene that includes clubs like "Bar 25" and "Katerholzig". Also he started a creative collaboration with "NU" and the friends of the new artistic project of "The Feathered Sun".

At the beginning of 2014 "The Notwist" released a new album called "Close To The Glass" and started touring around the world.

Despite the fact that the artist Acid Pauli still seems in his early development, he played with his friend and colleague Damian Lazarus at the "Day Zero" Festival. Moreover, he developed a "sound performance" for an exhibition in Japan and performed on the "Robot Heart”stage at the Burning Man.

Let's see what happens next!

Eduardo Castillo (Voodoo- LA)

Eduardo Castillo
COMPOSER/producer/sound designer/DJ (Crosstown Rebels / leverage recordings)
Graduate University of Miami - Bachelor of Arts- Composition, Music Technology and Vocal/Operatic Performance.
Eduardo’s music encompasses his depth in the study of the industry and influences stemming from a South American and European upbringing with roots in Venezuela, Cuba, and New York City. Having lived over half a decade in both Miami and New York City, provided Eduardo with invaluable collaborations in productions from pop to classical genres and avant-garde Off-Broadway shows. Eduardo uses a subtle ethnomusicologist’s approach to music. His record collection reads like a music history book. In fact his eclecticism is quite enticing. Sounds of Jazz, Avant –Garde, Middle Eastern, South American, Afro-Cuban folk, Soul, Funk, and electronic minimalism, can be heard in his compositions, his singing, his dj sets, and his playing of instruments, whether in their pure form or intertwined with down, mid and up-tempo electronic treatments. Ultimately, simplicity is what Eduardo strives for. An effort is always made to have a fresh organic sound while inevitably providing touches of technological advances shaping music today, never overwhelming and always sophisticated and tasteful. New York certainly exposed Eduardo to a world of electronic music that would eventually shape his evolution as a composer/producer. Djing residencies at hotel and club settings aided in the understanding of his role as a music selector and crowd pleaser.
Eduardo moved to Los Angeles to focus on recording music and songwriting. He also spent 3 years as the head of the sound design and music department for mun2 television, a latin music television network owned by NBC-Universal. Simultaneously, Eduardo served as the Director of Music and Talent for prominent boutique and restaurant lounge outfits in Los Angeles and Miami.
Eduardo has been influential in the diurnal and nocturnal music scenes of Los Angeles, Miami, and New York with his The Eclectech event brand. His successful poolside events and his very own and intimate invite only affair, VOODOO, have helped change the face of night life in Los Angeles, by being a vehicle for proper and detail oriented events. VOODOO, in particular, is a night where Eduardo allows himself and special guests, to take risks in a beautiful downtown Los Angeles artist loft he has refurbished. Henrik Schwarz, Carl Craig, Nicolas Jaar, Damian Lazarus, Martin Buttrich, Maya Jane Coles, and Craig Richards are but a few that have witnessed, first hand, the devotion of Eduardo's work and vision.
It's been almost two years since Eduardo finished building and opened his first large scale labor of love, Pattern Bar. Pattern Bar has quickly become an authoritative venue for music and mixology in Los Angeles. It's no surprise that Pattern Bar also has
been considered to have the best sound system in the city. Eduardo is incredibly passionate about proper sound and finds sub standard sound unacceptable as he considers a well-tuned room and sound system to be his greatest and most important instruments.
This year will mark the start of two new ventures for Eduardo. The first will be the build out of an intimate nightclub below Pattern Bar. Conceptually, he aims to create a dance floor/music studio. In essence, the room will be a testing ground for his production and that of his peers. The aim is to perfect the room's acoustics and sound system, rivaling well tuned music studios. The attached 100-year-old bank vault will serve as Eduardo's actual music studio. The nightclub and studio will live in a common space.
The second venture is something that Eduardo has dreamt of since moving to weather perfect LA, a large and culturally driven outdoor venue. The dream will become a reality this summer as Eduardo kicks off his GRAN PARK SUNDAY SESSIONS. The County of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Music Center have entrusted him with this important task.
Eduardo continues to be heavily involved with his own personal musical projects, djing, as well as scoring and sound designing for commercial and cinematic projects. 2012 saw two sought after releases on the acclaimed and respected, Crosstown Rebels.
There’s simply no stopping Eduardo Castillo’s dedication and work ethic.
