Living Room Lava
A 4 piece band from St. Louis that looks to meld various forms of music into their own version of rock and roll.
It doesn't take a whole lot of imagination to figure out what Living Room Lava means. Just ask any kid why they are jumping from couch to couch and they'll tell you, "Because the floor is lava!"
It's that same imagination that still drives the four guys of Living Room Lava. Each one of them brings a different dynamic to the band, but they are all united in their quest to create innovative music.
LRL formed in the spring of 2012 after an impromptu jam session at Phil's house. Phil, Boston and Colt had been in a band that previously broke up, but they still jammed together from time to time. Phil met Paul through a mutual friend, and they began jamming together. Colt joined Phil and Paul a couple of times, and then eventually Boston joined in as well. The rest, as they say, is history.
Each band member has a wide range of musical influences including Pink Floyd, Louis Armstrong, Victor Wooten, Frank Zappa, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, The Pixies, Tool, Soundgarden, Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age, Jack White, Franz Ferdinand, 10 Years, and Sick Puppies. These influences translate into all of LRL's music.
Living Room Lava is a band that will reinvent themselves using different genres of music. They will work tirelessly to meld those genres into their own type of rock music that anyone can enjoy. All the while, they won't forget to have fun. Just like they did when they were kids... jumping from couch to couch
