Adam Carolla is one of the most versatile men in Hollywood. After cutbacks forced Adam to quit his syndicated self titled “Adam Carolla Show” broadcast on CBS radio, Adam started “The Adam Carolla Podcast” with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in Feb. 2009. The podcast is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most downloaded show on the internet receiving more than 25 million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, the NY Times and the LA times. This success has prompted Adam to launch an entire online network under the banner of Carolla Digital which produces many of iTunes top podcast such as Penn Gillette and PO'ed Cast with Dennis Miller and Adam Carolla.
In 2006, Carolla wrote, co-produced and stared in the independent boxing feature film The Hammer. The Hammer made its world premiere at the 2007 Tribecca Film Festival in New York. In 2015, Adam has once again written, produced, directed and stars in his latest feature film ROAD HARD...
ROAD HARD was the result of a famous crowdsourcing effort by Adam Carolla that garnered over 1.5 Million dollars in just 45 days from fans nationwide to produce the movie. Shot in just three weeks time, Adam called upon friends JAY MOHR, HOWIE MANDEL, DAVID KOECHNER, DAVID ALAN GRIER and LARRY MILLER to star with him in this semi-autobiographical look at life on the road for a comic today.
The movie features Adam Carolla as Bruce Madsen, a stand-up comedian who years after his successful television career has dried up, finds himself stuck in the torture chamber called "the road," battling nickel-and-dime club owners, horrible emcees and idiotic TSA agents. Bruce has one simple question: What the hell happened? It seemed like just yesterday his TV show was a hit, he had a hot young bride and his phone wouldn’t stop ringing. But the never-ending money train veered off course and Bruce ended up in an Econo Lodge in Addison, Texas, headlining a half-empty club, trying to cobble together his alimony payments and a college fund for his daughter. Maybe it’s just the box of wine and Nicorette talking, but Bruce is hearing a voice loud and clear. He must get off the road. Road Hard is the story of that journey.
The movie releases on Friday March 6th at theaters nationwide and all Video On Demand and Digital retail platforms and is available exclusively in Portland at the AladdinTheater for live exhibition on Saturday March 14th.
Adam will introduce the film to the audience, conduct a post show Q&A to discuss the making of the movie and make himself available for pictures and autographs for all the fans in attendance.
