Leaving a trail of burned up bars and sweat soaked guitars since 2009, the Dyrty Byrds have shown no mercy in their pursuit of original guitar driven rock and roll. Tori Pater, Eric Martinez, Mike “Spanky” McCluer, and Andrew Clapp are a four-piece rock band from Denver, CO that would fit as easily into the 1970’s classic/southern rock scene as they do in modern day American music.
Playing on their love of songwriting and rock & roll, Tori Pater (Polytoxic) and Eric Martinez (Bloodkin) have been playing music together since 2004 and have eased into a prolific songwriting partnership which is deeply solidified on the new Dyrty Byrds release Failure is Feedback, due out March 18, 2016. The vast majority of the new songs were born and flushed out in Tori’s basement with just he and Eric and a couple of acoustic guitars.
Seeing a few different formations after their debut, Dyrty Byrds have worn the tried and true rock & roll recipe of two guitars, bass, and drums as a badge of honor for the better part of their existence. Mike “Spanky” McCluer (Larry) and Andrew Clapp (Forever In Blue Jeans) on Bass and drums (respectively) bring a “freight train through the Rockies” type sound to the band that only Spanky and Andy can produce.
Failure Is Feedback is the Dyrty Byrds' third release and second album done with Chad “Chadzilla” Johnson at 25 BPM Studios in Denver, CO. Failure touches on outlaw country, a little punk rock, and funk with steady doses of rock & roll through out the record. It takes you to a place where guitars rule, truth is paramount, and the bar is always open.
Oakhurst's latest offering Barrel (their 5th), was produced and engineered by Joe Pisapia (K. D. Lang, Ben Folds & Guster) and wasrecorded at his own Middle Tree Studios in Nashville, TN. WithPisapia and Oakhurst front man Adam Hill's collaborative songwriting and Pisapia's guitar performances, Barrel takes a noticeable turn from the bluegrass tendencies that characterized the band’s previous efforts to a more genre-bending Americana and Bluesey reverberation. The arrangements and the harmonies are tight, pushing the songs towards a much broader audience with mainstream appeal.
Oakhurst has cultivated a more organic and mature sound, while seeking connection and inspiration from every audience they perform in front of. Barrel, being released on the band’s own imprint OakHorse, was a 2 year labor of love minus the whiskey that notoriously surrounded their songwriting in the past. With members coming and going throughout the process, Barrel features the breakout song 'Out West' which is a collaboration with Oakhurst's newest member, Daniel Lawrence Walker and an outstanding guest fiddle performance by Jeremy Garrett of the Infamous String Dusters.
Barrel is full of surprises and will keep fans both new and old wondering what comes next.
"When you get right down to it, it's all about the music, and while the music Oakhurst makes on Barrel isn't the kind that defies description, it's definitely the kind that defies any one description. The result is a perfect snapshot of an upward-bound quintet that's as broad-ranging as any you're likely to hear all year." ~ Jon Weisberger, Nashville Blogger

In the summer of 2006, Alex Thoele and Jon Pickett met while playing guitars around a campfire, high on a mountaintop in Estes Park, CO. The two have been entertaining and writing music since. In 2010, they were joined by mandolin player and fellow midwesterner, Jarett Mason, and shortly after by James Weatherly, the band’s only Colorado native, on banjo.
Chain Station is a 4-piece, high-energy, get ‘em out on the dance floor string band from Denver, Colorado. Their music is well-steeped in Americana roots, with vocal harmonies that are high, lonesome, and tight. Their picking ranges from lightning-fast to mountain mellow. They are a bluegrass band that would satisfy a picky old-timer and delight fans of newgrass, a delicate balance indeed.
They've become known for winning over crowds with creative, fun original songs that flow from the mountains, through them and right back to you. Pure Mountain Music! It's obvious these guys love what they do, engaging their growing fan base with energy and stage antics that guarantee one hell of a night out.
The band’s newest album is “Where I want To Be” October, 2016. In 2015 a live album “Chain Up Volume 1” was released and the debut studio album “Dancin’ With the Law” hit the scene in 2013. Chain Station has directly supported bands such as The Devil Makes Three, The Travelin' McCourys, Sierra Hull, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Todd Snider, Trout Steak Revival, The Railsplitters, Fruition, Hot Buttered Rum, Deadphish Orchestra and many more.
This band has been living life through music and adventures together for more than six years. Relentless gigging in their home state of Colorado, the mountain west and the midwest has made this band of brothers one of the tightest and most professional little ragtag pack of muppets on the scene today.
