KONG is a five-piece group from Boston, Massachusetts.

Rooted in the hard funk grooves of the last three decades the sound is armed with electro funk, tight percussive rhythms, and a whiff of world beat.

KONG is not afraid to melt your face with high-energy jams (think Band Of Gypsies meets Santana on steroids). But they also know enough to break it down with a touch of M.J., Maze, or Roy Ayers. KONG strives to move the crowd and is committed to bringing 110% . . . THUNDERFUNK.

With a high-energy mix of funk, rock, electronica and jazz, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has an undeniably unique and versatile live sound that ascends peaks of musical ecstasy, consistently creating a great time for all. Through a continually evolving selection of original and cover songs merged together by seamless improvisational jams, they've built a strong loyal following, aptly called 'The Flock,' who they refuse to disappoint. With no end in sight, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is here to bring the party with their danceable electro-funk grooves and infectious ability to bring positive energy to any environment.

2012 has been an exciting year for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, with two very successful weekly residencies at The 8×10 in Baltimore, along with many high profile festival spots including Catskill Chill, The Werk Out, Camp Barefoot and Grateful Fest. They have also shared the stage with many artists including Papadosio, The Werks, Ludacris (seriously), The Bridge, The Heavy Pets, That 1 Guy, The Pimps of Joytime, Zoogma, Jimkata and The Motet.

Playing over 100 shows a year, Pigeons continue to expand people's minds (musically…), playing a unique, energy-packed set at every show. Whether it be at a major festival or in your basement, Pigeons will show you a good time.
