Durango Songwriter's Expo
We all need to be inspired to create. Few things are more inspiring than spending quality time with smart, talented, like-minded people who understand what you do...and are passionate about it, in fact. You WILL be inspired at the DSE.
Do you really know what's going on in the "industry"? (It's changing!) Have you been honestly critiqued by more than your friends, family and current fans? We learn through failure, through trial and error. You have to be willing to try yourself against your peers so that you can get better at your craft, your art, your job. You'll LEARN at the DSE.
You will be motivated to create, produce, direct and manage more projects by the time you leave the DSE. You will not only see that you CAN do it, you'll be more inspired to do it...and you'll be far more equipped to take action, to "just do it."
AND limited to 200 attendees with 30-40 top music industry people there to help YOU.

Jamey Geston, is a 15-year-old singer-songwriter who plays guitar, bass, ukulele, piano and learning mandolin. Her music has an organic mix of indie, blended in a folksy beat, and flavored with pinch of acoustic pop.She is really inspired by a lot of British artists and bands, "because a lot of them seem to know how to phrase things well, so poetic and lovely. Her music reflects traces of Gabrielle Aplin, Regina Spektor, and even a bit of a throwback to the 60s with Joni Mitchell.” Over the pass year she has had some amazing in opportunities which include: Opening for the Legendary Folksinger Judy Collins, Nathan McEuen and Leroy Lee (Australian Songsmith), sharing the stage with Jeff Bridges, Kenny Loggins and Will Champlin (The Voice.) This past October '13 she was a top finalist in Santa Barbara Independent Battle of the Bands, a solo artist against five all male bands, and featured artist in The 2013 Santa Barbara Independent Band Guide - "The 805’s Next Great Music Maker,” In fall '12 she was a finalist in Zoey's Cafe “One to Watch” Emerging Songwriter, making her the youngest contestant to advance to finals. In January she was selected to perform two shows The NAMM Show 2014, chosen from over 400 submissions. She has been recording her first EP and hopes to release it soon, Jamey has attended Durango Songwriters Expo for past five years.
Kate Graves writes little songs....little songs that are raw.
Sometimes they are sparse...sometimes filled with lots of little words. Often they are written about things like tasting sweet orange on your lips and wanting to kiss someone, so that they might experience tasting sweet orange on their lips. Kate Graves likes kissing. And singing. She hopes you will listen in. Hear her tunes at www.kategravesmusic.com
Chi McClean was born and raised in New York before heading out to California in a beat up truck looking for a change. Settling in San Francisco, he began to develop an honest, introspective approach to his songwriting that ultimately formed the building blocks for his debut release, "Something Out There", and recently, his latest effort, "A Thing Or Three".
Chi writes acoustic rock songs marked by a haunting Southern style. Many of his songs take a straightforward look at love, loss, and in the end, opportunity. Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, The Black Crowes, Free, The Faces and The Allman Brothers, Chi's music borrows from the classic tones and song structures that formed the pillars of the 1960's rock scene while presenting listeners with a contemporary and wholly unique perspective.
